You said you don’t want to interfere with my routine, but then you gave me a lot of advice on how to eat and how to do my fast and tell me it’s “not really a fast”.don’t want to interfere with your routine,
With all due respect, I’ve been under the care of a nutritionist in the distant past because I used to have periods of eating nothing and it was damaging both my metabolism and my health. Egg and grapefruit is a fast that was part of the nutritionist’s program; it is better for my metabolism than 2 days of bread fast, and it actually does kick-start my particular metabolism (going without food entirely does not and is dangerous), and that is why I do bread fast for only 1 day (actually less than 24 hours) and do the egg and grapefruit for the other day.
Also, I note that the health benefits or whatever of my fasting should not have even come up in your discussion. This fast is for a religious devotion, not for me to lose weight or have more energy. It is also a fast that is lasting for less than 24 hours each week, not something I’m doing as a 12 day crash program. You are missing the point when you talk about “health”. I’m looking for ways to cope with the penance of the fast, not for ways to make the fast feel better, jazz my body up or conform to whatever misguided (for me) idea you have of what a “fast” is. Thanks but no thanks.
