I know many people who post here went to Franciscan University of Steubenville or know people who did. I thought I’d post this story:

Last I checked, the girl, Meghan, is in critical condition after first having been pronounced dead on the scene.

It is very, very sad. I am friends with a family who lost their daughter in an accident driving home from Steubenville.

I’ll definatly pray.

But the facts of this are alredy disturbing. She sped through a stop sign and wasn’t wearing a seat belt. It can be a lesson to children that even good girls from good schools need to buckle up and drive carefully. Needless, needless tragedy. She is lucky she didn’t kill someone else.

My prayers are with her and her family. I don’t know her, but I have friends in Steubenville who are close to her. We’re all praying hard.

Mother Mary, on the Eve of your Immaculate Conception, we ask you please intercede for this young woman.

Regardless as to stopping at a stop sign or not wearing a seatbelt, a girl is hurt and needs our prayers, not our judgment. I am also thankful she didn’t kill anyone else, as I am in every car crash that are not fatal. Prayers for Meghan. Also for everyone traveling during the upcoming holiday season, that they may drive carefully and arrive safely.

I did say that I was praying, and I am not judging. I was pointing out the fact that this is a sad situation that was ENTIRELY preventable and should be brought to the attention of young (or careless) drivers as to the gravity of what they are doing. It is a sensless tragedy that was entierly avoidable and perhaps if people pray for her and look at the situation they can take this as a brutal reminder to buckle up, slow down and stop at stop signs.

I also feel VERY much for the man in the pickup, for the horrific seconds when he hit her and for the horror he must of felt when the paramedics announced she was dead. I am sure he is still suffering greatly.

Nothing official. My friend who lives in Steubenville wrote on his fb page that “she is doing much better” but that her doctors are worried about her head trauma and brain.
Thank you.

From her father:

***Meghan Elizabeth Green, 20, who brought so much joy and happiness, fell asleep in the Lord at 6:47 a.m. today. May she rest in Paradise where there is no weeping and no sorrow. God bless all of you who poured out your hearts to Alberta and me. Thank you for your prayers.

Praying for the repose of her soul!

Eternal Rest grant unto her, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May her soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed,
through the Mercy of God, rest in peace, amen.
