I think they can definitely go to heaven. I don’t think that only the catholic christians will go to heaven. I think all sorts from all groups.

It’s wrong to mock at anyone’s faith, i think it’s allowed to criticize religion in a civilized way, but mocking is a silly thing. lot’s of people forget the rule of treating people in a good way, wherever their beliefs are. people love to look at silly things in the other religion, but they don’t notice silliness in their own religion.
If there is a good god somewhere, i don’t think he will be angry at them, maybe he will understand their situation. According to bible, when people mocked at Jesus, he asked his father to forgive them. I think you need to do the same.

This is a very small observation regarding Catholics who “mock” various beliefs of Catholicism. We need to pray for them as well as for others. We should never ever underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit to touch a soul.

I fear for those who attack the Church, for as Pauls conversion on the road to Damascus showed us the Church is the Body of Christ (He said, “Why are you persecuting me” (Him, not his followers)

I have witness several instances of criticism of someone’s ethical or other actions turned into an alleged slur of their race or culture, even when it was a matter of simple civility or maturity. I wonder if there is similar reactivity on here to people who sincerely wish to question some point of faith or advance a conversation about another aspect of philosophy or perception that is not directly sanctioned by the Church? In the same way that some people are racists, are some on here tending in the direction of bigotry? Or does simply belonging to our Faith guarantee against such error, even on the part of the modrators? I mean, are some people on here perhaps mistaking a desire to introduce a point of consideration as mockery?

Like the rest of us, when (and if) they get to Heaven some day, they’re gonna take one look around and say to each other:
**“Hey, this place looks *really ***Catholic.”
And I never worry about fellow Christians mocking Catholicism. As a kind and loving man on EWTN once said, “You CAN stand against the world if you’re right.”

Nah, i think they will realize the error of their ways when they have to be purified in purgatory, but I dont think that one thing will be what sends them nether.
Accountable, yes.
Damned, emphatically no. At least not for that particular transgression since it is most often out of ignorance or woundedness (is that even a word?)

Seriously though, this post disturbs me. Calvinists will deny it, but when you get right down to it, “once saved, always saved” makes no logical sense at all. I don’t mean that in an insulting way; I just can’t comprehend such theology. I’d recommend the “OSAS” episode of Saint Michael’s Media’s “The One True Faith” to any Calvinist who disagrees.
As for the original question, well, Jesus was more critical of the hypocritical Pharisees than unbelievers, so make of that what you will. Christianity in general isn’t a “get out of hell free card”; certainly, it is a step closer to Catholicism than non-Christianity, but in the end, your religious label won’t matter. Whether or not you repented for your serious sins will. I imagine the final judgment will be very humbling to many, Catholics and Protestants alike.

It is fascinating in this regard that research done on NDE’s has the experience universally analyzable in seven distinct parts. An experiencer may have any from one to all seven parts included in the happening, according to the study. One phase, the “judgement” phase, is most simply stated as the individual asking themselves two questions with utmost dispassion and clarity in the full knowledge of their life.
The two questions are: “Did I Love?” and “What did I learn?” Though I personally did not have that part, it sounds like it is one of those “to the utmost farthing” instances.
Also of interest, in the phase where one meets the “Guide,” it is reported that the experiencer names the guide according to their religion. A Catholic would see Jesus, a Muslim sees Mohammed, etc. Non believers report an angel or a great light. In all cases the Guide is briilliant beyond words.
Go figure.

WE is the vast majority of posters on this forum, but most of us just assume it is ignorance of the proper usage or just accidental typing issues. Most people arent quite as worried about it, but we all care when it is misspelled. I actually go back and edit my posts whenever I slip up and forget to capitalize God. Yes, it is similar to the G-D custom in Judaism, but it shows proper reverance for the name of God.

Or most people just type fast and don’t think a big deal needs to be made out of a word. Im sure GOD is more worried about peoples salvation than wether or not a word is capitalized. Also too, Im not sure if you noticed, but in my other posts, I almost always capitalize it. Obviously it was a typo.
