I am probably the only one who hadn’t seen this paticular episode of Father Corapi. But last night he was talking about Catholic politicians who support abortions. Of course he didn’t mention my favorite two by name but it’s quite clear those were the top on his list. Of course I am talking about Kerry and Kennedy, the Catholic senators from Massachusetts. I know there are others that fit the description but those are the top on my list anyway.
Father Corapi said as long as abortion is the “law” of the land in this country God is going to take his vengence out on this country. He said eventually it will come down to a nuclear attack in Los Angeles. He said 9/11 was just a wakeup call for what is going to happen next if we don’t stop abortions.
He also said that those people who compare the death penalty to abortion with all due respect are mental midgets. He got lots of cheers for that. He said abortion is intrinsically evil ALL THE TIME. He said there is no justification for killing an INNOCENT baby that is in the one place that should be the safest place in the world for it! In the mothers womb! He said the death penalty may be evil in some cases. He said you can debate whether we need it in today’s society but with abortion there is NO DEBATE! It’s EVIL ALL THE TIME. Abortion kills an innocent!!!
He said that any Catholic politician that publically supports abortion and goes and receives the Blessed Sacarament needs to be rebuked in public. He said if someone sins in private then they can go to private confession. But if someone commits the gravest of all possible sins in public as Catholic politicians who support abortion do they need to confess and be rebuked and public.
He said politicians that support abortion have ex-communicated themselves from the Church and no action by the Bishop is necassary! Again there was lots of clapping for that.
He then said with all due respect to the Bishops, who he said have very tough jobs, but along with the awesome job of being a bishop comes an even more awesome responsibility. The bishops have to start dealing with these Catholic politicians who support abortion.
He said he doesn’t know if he would refuse the Blessed Sacarament to a Catholic Politician who supported abortion. He said he would hope he didn’t recognize them in the line. He said he knows some priests and bishops have refused them Communion and those people are brave and courageous but the point of the matter is this should be dealt with before it gets to the point of being in the Communion line!
Father Corapi said all the Osama Bin Ladens, all the Saddam Husseins, all the Adolf Hitlers, all the Joseph Stalins rolled into one do not pose nearly the amount of danger to this country and to national security as immorality does. He said abortion is on top of the list as well as gay marriage, homosexual sex, and all the rest of the immorality is going to do more damage than any of those dictators. Again there was lots of cheering for that.
He then went through the 9 ways people can commit mortal sin by causing other people to sin. I don’t remember everything but even something as simple as voting for a pro abortion candidate would be approving of abortion. He said as Catholics we have a great gift and get great graces. However, with those gifts and graces come responsibility. He said Priests and Bishpos have an awesome responsibility that scares him a lot.
He told a true story about a 40 year old woman who was told she was pregnant. She was upset about the possibile health complications that could happen with someone her age having a baby. She went to her doctor and her doctor told her that even though it’s not common for someone her age to have a baby it does happen and complications are rare. So she was calmed down by the doctor and was ready to have the baby and then she went to her priest. Her preist told her, “Don’t worry, you can always have an abortion.” Everyone in the audience including me at home groaned over that.
Anyway, it was a very good show and I wish I was able to get it on DVD because it was that good. Until I saw that show last night I considered rape and the mothers health to be the only reason when an abortion should be considered. I would still say that if the mothers life is in danger (and not just depression like the NOW want) If the mother will DIE from the medical complications of a pregnancy that would be the only time when abortion may be appropriate. Even then…that’s only what? Less than 1% of all abortions? With today’s medical advances it’s rare that the mother will die from having the baby. But in that case, I think the mother should be given the choice.
