My father has been fighting lung cancer for about 6 years. The chemo stopped working not to long ago. The cancer is growing and my father is losing strength. The end in near. He was raised a Catholic but left the Faith in his youth. All of his adult life he has lived without the Faith. About a month and a half ago he asked me to send him a prayer book, which I did. Please, my Catholic brothers and sisters pray for his conversion and that he my die in union with God.

Thanks

I’ll certainly say prayers. It sounds as if the Holy Spirit is working in him already.

I will pray for your father that he will accept the Divine Mercy of Christ.:gopray:

Is it possible to get him a green scapular?
This may help in his conversion.

Now is the time to broach the subject of returning to the faith. The anointing of the sick has great curative power. It will cause the forgiveness of sin. Time is short, eternity is long. He asked for it,. Out of love, deliver the truth to him. His prayers for you from Heaven will last your lifetime.

Merciful and ever forgiving Lord, You conceived of Sword Brethren’s father from all eternity as an irreplaceable part of Your Divine plan. You loved him before he was knitted together in his mother’s womb. Ever since he strayed from You, O Lord, your love for him has grown stronger. Graciously soften his heart to receive the fullness of Your truth. You sent and sacrificed Your Beloved Son for such precious souls as his. Grant that, for love of You, those who love him may gently reveal Your truth to him. As he ponders eternity, may he choose light and love over the darkness that he has tasted since he wandered from You. At that moment Father, You will run to him, embrace him and dress him in the finest Heavenly robe when your prodigal returns home. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen, alleluia!

Sword Brethren:

I’m praying for you and your father.

Prayerfully,

Renato

Praying for your intentions:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God Bless
In Jesus through Mary

We beseech thee, Master, to be our helper and protector.
Save the afflicted among us; have mercy on the lowly;
raise up the fallen; appear to the needy; heal the ungodly;
restore the wanderers of thy people;
feed the hungry; ransom our prisoners;
raise up the sick; comfort the faint-hearted.

Clement of Rome (1st Century)

Will be keeping your father in prayer that he will return to the Faith prior to death…and if not that The Lord of His Loving Mercy will be Merciful…:signofcross:

Praying to Our Lady to intercede for your Dad.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

My father is now at the point of not be aware anymore. Several days ago he asked for a priest and the priest gave him the Last Rites. Please, pray my Catholic brothers and sisters because my dad’s judgement is soon.

Thanks

His asking for the Priest and receiving his Last Rites is wonderful. Remember my brother in Christ, God’s mercy is greater than our sins. The Lord knows what’s really in his heart. I am asking for Our Lady’s intercession for his soul.

Praise God for your father’s ability to ask for the Sacrament. What a blessing! For, in the anointing, his sins are forgiven and, though his body is not, his spirit is healed. My mother was baptized into the Catholic Church at age 88, after a declining adulthood of constant complaints about her state of health. Once baptized and having partaken of the Eucharist, her complaints miraculously stopped. Both Sacraments brought her peace, not only within herself, but with the Lord, and those around her. The transformation was remarkable. Just over four months later, she answered the Lord’s call home. This was a shining example of God’s Teaching Grace, when we are so often preoccupied with our selfish desires for our loved ones. God had not called her before, as she was not spiritually prepared for the journey. Once properly prepared, she appeared to prefer the Lord’s Kingdom to this life. It was the perfect ending to an imperfect life. And, so it will be with your father. Thank and praise the Lord for the years of blessing, the innumerable occasions you shared which will keep him present to you in spirit for the rest of your life.

Lord, Your love is eternal and unfailing. Your mercy is so profound that we would faint if we knew its depths! In Your love of Sword Brethren’s father, You responded to his desire for preparation to answer Your Heavenly Call. And Lord, you have mercifully provided a network of souls to support him in prayer. May those prayers of the faithful move Your Beloved Son, Christ Jesus, to intercede at Your Right Hand for mercy. Graciously incline Your ear to hear the pleas of our Savior, O Loving Creator God. We lift this beloved father up to you, knowing that Your mercy exceeds our capacity to comprehend. In Your compassion, allow Sword Brethren and his loved ones to reflect upon the blessing that his father was, is now and ever will be to them. After his father answers Your Blessed Call, may cherished memories of him provide many occasions of reflection, generating prayers which will lead other hearts to You. And once You welcome him face to face, grant this perfected soul a joyful eternity, bathed in the penetrating warmth of Your Divine light. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen. Alleluia!
