Father Flanagan founder of Boy's Town up for canonization!

I think this is great news, Father Flanagan’s story is a great one and very inspirational. 👍 Apparently the archdiocese of Omaha is opening the canonization process on March 17th with a prayer service at Boys Town’s Immaculate Conception Church. Love that Spencer Tracy movie about him by the way.
 
Wonderful news. I met Fr. when I was quite young visiiting my Aunt who was a teacher there… God Bless him.

Just a word of encourage to those of you interesting in his cause. I have been following very closely the cause for Abp Fulton Sheen and the one big thing I learned is that they need support, both prayers and financial, for a cause to even get off the ground.

There is all kinds of research, gathering of information, interviews etc etc etc. before Rome will even consider letting a cause go forward.

Contact those who are getting this off the ground and let them know you are praying for this. What many dont realize is that it just doesnt “happen”. Rome needs to see and know that there is what is deemed “the cult” of a person. IE people are truly interested.

Rome officially opened the cause for Fulton Sheen in 2002 and the diocesan phase of the inquiry didnt come to a close until 2008.

It’s a very long LONG process. They need your help and encouragement and prayers. 👍
