O Mother of all men and women, and of all peoples, you who know all their sufferings and their hopes, you who have a mother’s awareness of all the struggles between good and evil, between light and darkness, which afflict the modern world, accept the cry which we, moved by the Holy Spirit, address directly to your Heart. Embrace with the love of the Mother and Handmaid of the Lord, this human world of ours, which we entrust and consecrate to you, for we are full of concern for the earthly and eternal destiny of individuals and peoples.

In a special way we entrust and consecrate to you those individuals and nations which particularly need to be thus entrusted and consecrated.

We have recourse to your protection, holy Mother of God!’ Despise not our petitions in our necessities.:

Behold, as we stand before you, Mother of Christ, before your Immaculate Heart, we desire, together with the whole Church, to unite ourselves with the consecration which, for love of us, your Son made of himself to the Father:˜For their sake’, he said, ˜I consecrate myself that they also may be consecrated in the truth’ (Jn 17:19). We wish to unite ourselves with our Redeemer in this his consecration for the world and for the human race, which, in his divine Heart, has the power to obtain pardon and to secure reparation.

The power of this consecrationlasts for all time and embraces all individuals, peoples and nations. It overcomes every evil that the spirit of darkness is able to awaken, and has in fact awakened in our times, in the heart of man and in his history.

How deeply we feel the need for the consecration of humanity and the world”our modern world”in union with Christ himself! For the redeeming work of Christ must be shared in by the world through the Church.

The present Year of the Redemption shows this: the special Jubilee of the whole Church.

Above all creatures, may you be blessed, you, the Handmaid of the Lord, who in the fullest way obeyed the divine call!

Hail to you, who are wholly united to the redeeming consecration of your Son!

Mother of the Church! Enlighten the People of God along the paths of faith, hope, and love! Enlighten especially the peoples whose consecration and entrustment by us you are awaiting. Help us to live in the truth of the consecration of Christ for the entire human family of the modern world.

In entrusting to you, O Mother, the world, all individuals and peoples, we also entrust to you this very consecration of the world, placing it in your motherly Heart.

Immaculate Heart! Help us to conquer the menace of evil, which so easily takes root in the hearts of the people of today, and whose immeasurable effects already weigh down upon our modern world and seem to block the paths towards the future!

From famine and war, deliver us.

From nuclear war, from incalculable self-destruction, from every kind of war, deliver us.

From sins against the life of man from its very beginning, deliver us.

From hatred and from the demeaning of the dignity of the children of God, deliver us.

From every kind of injustice in the life of society, both national and international, deliver us.

From readiness to trample on the commandments of God, deliver us.

From attempts to stifle in human hearts the very truth of God, deliver us.

From the loss of awareness of good and evil, deliver us.

From sins against the Holy Spirit, deliver us, deliver us.

Accept, O Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the sufferings of all individual human beings, laden with the sufferings of whole societies.

Help us with the power of the Holy Spirit to conquer all sin: individual sin and the˜sin of the world’, sin in all its manifestations.

Let there be revealed, once more, in the history of the world the infinite saving power of the Redemption: the power of merciful Love! May it put a stop to evil! May it transform consciences! May your Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of Hope!

Saint John Paul II

Peace
Amen

To be the same as what His Holy Mother was for Him. A person cried out to Jesus how blessed was the one he was born from. The Lord Jesus corrected the person by saying blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it. The Lord pointed out the greatest virtue of His Mother. This is who God wants the Laity to imitate. We need to fall in love with the Son of God! We need to imitate the faith of Mary!
and what does that entail?

What is the Faith of Mary?

The Catholic Church has said Fatima was fulfilled. Sister Lucia had confirmed that the consecration was done successfully and according to the Blessed Mother’s directive. There is a chronological timeline on EWTN (just google Fatima timeline ewtn). It shows the entire process, including the failed attempt, and you can see immediately how the hand of God moved against the communist persecution of Christians upon the fulfillment of Our Lady of Fatima’s command.
If you want to know more about what Mary said at Fatima, look at what she said at other apparitions such as at La Salette, Akita, Kibeho or Garabandal.

The Sister Lucia who met with Pope John Paul II and who said that the consecration was done correctly is not Lucia dos Santos who experienced the visions at Fatima. The two of them look nothing alike - eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, shape of chin, jaw line. This is something about which I am gravely troubled.

Sr. Lucia Silenced
Precisely because the attempted consecration in 1982 made no mention of Russia (and the bishops did not participate), Sister Lucy told the Papal Nuncio to Portugal on March 19, 1983 that the 1982 Act of Consecration was insufficient, because Russia was not the object of the consecration and the bishops did not participate in a solemn public ceremony consecrating Russia. She concluded: “The Consecration of Russia has not been done as Our Lady requested. I was not able to make this statement before because I did not have the permission of the Holy See.”
Then, in September of 1985, an account of an interview with her appeared in Sol de Fatima magazine, published by friends of the Spanish Blue Army. It quoted Sr. Lucia affirming once again that yet another consecration of the world, performed in 1984 in Rome, still did not satisfy Our Lady’s request. The text of the consecration made no mention of Russia, and none of the thousands of other bishops of the world were commanded to participate.
Who this second Sister Lucia really was and who put her up to impersonating a visionary are grave questions to which the faithful should receive answers, answers which unfortunately, she has taken to her grave. May God have mercy on her soul.

I find this deeply concerning since Our Lady of Fatima led me to the Catholic Church. Seeing a photograph of the incorrupt body of St Jacinta was one of my first ‘wake-up’ moments in coming to Jesus. As a convert, who came to know the Truth that the Catholic Church is the Church of Christ and that She has faithfully preserved the Teachings of Jesus through Our Lady of Fatima, I find this to be something to shake my faith. Does the Church still teach the Truth?

This is complete nonsense. There is no way Communism would have fallen like a domino effect had the Consecration been unsuccessful. For Pete’s sake the fall of Communism occurred 5 years after the successful Consecration of 1984. Certainly the hand of God was there. I have read those posts about how some Catholics interpret the Fatima message and it is better to stay with your Popes to believe in what they interpret instead of what others say. The conversion which the Holy Mother wanted was to end the persecution of Christians. It had nothing to do with Russian Orthodoxy to become part of the Church of Rome. It had to do with the conversion of godless men who wanted to end the Church. This conversion has taken place. The Church is now out of danger. It doesn’t mean all is well. It means the Church is now freer to evangelise. The Church is trying its best despite the conditions we are all facing but at least the Church is now freer to fulfill its God calling ministry and yes we can at least try to do this together, Catholic and Orthodox.

I don’t know about you but I’ve been getting so much unsolicited, may I say, junk, mail from all kinds of Catholic organizations, mostly asking for donations, for one cause or another. They seem to be increasing. I have yet to figure a way to stop them.
One of the latest I glanced at had the theme of Pope Francis’ new vision for the Church, and going out to the streets, proclaiming Christ’s love to heal the wounds of His people in hopes of transforming humanity by winning souls…and so forth.
Maybe I’m old fashioned and I’m all for evangelization which is sorely needed, but I question this method that is so prevalent and has been for so long now. Focussing on God’s mercy and praise is wonderful and optimistic. But I think we are forgetting the dark element that nobody seems to want to talk about how the devil is deceiving and destroying the world. Including this undeniable fact about how the evil spirits take hold of peoples souls, today more than ever, can only prove to wake up the ignorant, the lazy, the lukewarm…
I’d like to read what your thoughts are about this in terms of the new evangelization. It may not be something we choose to ponder, but is it not part of our Catholic faith? Or is this another effect of Vatican II to be more ecumenical?

Dear Linda Marie,

The Catholic Church continues to preach the Truth as she has been given the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would lead us into the complete Truth. (Jn 16). All of us need to be careful in checking the sources we read for all those who use the word “Catholic” or profess to be “Catholic” may not be following the Truth which the Church teaches. Private revelations, even when approved are not the same as Divine Revelation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church gives a good explanation:
67 Throughout the ages, there have been so-called “private” revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history. Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.
It is disturbing to me that Fr. Gruner has confused many people but I if you read the official documents which are on the Vatican website rather than what Fr. Gruner may say, you’ll find that your faith will not be shaken. Here is some background on Fr. Gruner:
Fr. Nicholas Gruner started an apostolate in the 1970s to promote the message of Fátima. This is done through a magazine called Fátima Crusader. He and his magazine take a critical stance toward the compliance of the Popes with the message of Fátima, specifically the request for the Consecration of Russia. This stance continued after the Consecration of 1984 and the 2001 publication of the Third Secret of Fátima, both of which he considers incomplete. Despite recent assurances by the remaining visionary Sr. Lucia Santos, given through the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, his criticism continues. It should be noted that Fátima is not a matter of the faith.
In addition to Fátima Crusader, Fr. Gruner owns and publishes the Catholic Family News, which he acquired several years ago. Like the Remnant and several other small Catholic papers, Catholic Family News takes a critical view of the post-conciliar changes in the Church, especially in matters of the liturgy. With respect to the Tridentine Mass, it is not only preferred but the current Rite, while acknowledged as valid, is considered a complete innovation, departure from tradition and a disaster for the Church. In recent years CFN has also become very critical of the pontificate of Pope John Paul II in matters such as ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue. Again, it is not just the implementation of Vatican II in these areas, but the very direction the Council and the post-conciliar popes have taken. This criticism reached its zenith in 2000 with the publication of We Resist You to Your Face, the “You” being Pope John Paul II. Co-sponsors of this document include Catholic Family News and The Remnant, and traditionalist authors Marian Horvat and Atila Sinke Guimarães. This resistance is intended to restore the Traditional Catholic Faith, as they understand it, by resisting what they see as novelties and innovations in the governance of the Church since Vatican II and in particular under the present Pope…
You can read from the Congregation of the Faith HERE
You can read more HERE also concerning Fr. Gruner.
May the Lord give you His peace, dear sister. If you do not have a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, there is an online version HERE. It is a great help in clarifying what the official teachings of the Church are, enabling us to discern truth from falsehood. Hope this helps.

Garabandal is not approved.

Sr.Lucy is the original. Why would her relatives visit her? They have seen her all through the years, not just two photos taken years apart.

I would love to see priests restore the Leonine prayers – the prayers that used to be said after Mass for the conversion of Russia. Since they are AFTER Mass, I don’t think there would be any worry about mixing the Extraordinary and Ordinary Forms.
If priests agree to it, i would love to see it return.

What was needed in Russia is needed in other parts of the world now. what was needed in Vatican-I mean papal states-is now needed spiritually, life-ally and may i say, sexually. If it(the leonine prayers) was victorious then, it should be now.

"You have seen Hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart.”

“I will take Jacinta and Francisco shortly; but you will stay here for some time to come. Jesus wants to use you to make Me known and loved. He wishes to establish the devotion to My Immaculate Heart throughout the world. I promise salvation to whoever embraces it; these souls will be dear to God, like flowers put by Me to adorn his throne.”

When did this part of Fatima stop being taught to our children?

We hear the talk about the consecration of Russia but how many individual souls consecrated to The Immaculate Heart of Mary will She find the seventh time? “And I shall return here yet a seventh time.”
Inspiring words of wisdom…(Immaculate heart of mary, pray for us)
I must say, you must succeed Wojciech Giertych.

Millions had died in Russia. Over 1000 Bishops most of them Orthodox were killed. Only 4 Orthodox Bishops remained in Russia prior to the Second World War.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

While I believe that Our Lady was in Fatima, I am very skeptical about the consecrate Russia part.

Russia is becoming very Christian and Vladimir Putin is a pretty devout Russian Orthodox.

Just because Russia is in the Ukraine doesn’t mean that Fatima or we as Catholics failed.

The Soviet Union was disbanded.

Plus why should we Americans criticize Russia for being in another nations country. We have bases all over the world. So who are we to talk about aggression.
Private revelation - need not believe it.

Allow me a metaphor to explain why some of the prophecy has happened and yet some continues to go on.

The kids are playing outside. Some are running in and out of the street as fast cars are passing by. The more the kids play, the more reckless they get.

Mama has been watching this, as she has watched her other children, and she tries again to warn them: Please get out of the street. Play safely. Stop and come in for lunch. Think about what you are doing.

The kids ignore and get more restless and rowdy. A few come inside and sit with Mama, a few stay in the house, some within earshot, as others get more and more careless and begin getting hurt. They fight with each other, they get hit by cars, they chase each other out of neighborhoods. They blame. They do harm to the more innocent bystanders. They ridicule the Mama.

Mama stays by and has to watch the suffering and violence that is coming to her children. She stands by her message to come home, get nourishment, and think about things. Some come in while a great many continue to ignore, burn down homes, hurt or kill others, invent more dangerous vehicles and weapons. She continues to urge the kids inside to think about the ones outside, the ones who were hurt, the ones who were killed.

All along Mama has claimed that it’s not too late to come home, even while the kids are still running around crazy outside.

Our Lady at Fatima had messages that are very similar to her other messages to the kids: pray, convert, consecrate, and peace will come. Many of us kids have ignored this message or think it is too late. But true prophecy always allows for prayer to change things. We might not change all of the dark stuff of human nature that has happened, but perhaps by praying in the house, we have kept and are still keeping the neighborhood from going completely out of control. Maybe we are learning how powerless we are without prayer and connection to God. Maybe we are learning how connected we are to each other. Maybe if we listened to Mama…
Good metaphor.

No worries about the name, we all make mistakes.

Most of my knowledge about Fatima is just by a presentation at my parish when a guy brought in a Fatima statue.
You can educate yourself at ewtn.com/fatima/

This is a good site without any wrong info like some other sites.

Can any of you tell me how to quote multiple posts?
I had to quote them individually for 7 or so posts, though my replies were short.

As they are not in full communiuon with the Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province, Sovereign of the Vatican City State, Servant of the servants of God.

I would love to go to Fatima
Dear ajecphotos, and also to all those I have not responded to on this thread:

I can understand the desire to visit Fatima, yet I also know that every visit to the Blessed Sacrament is special to me. Every prayerful moment, which by God’s Grace, I can spend anywhere – just knowing God dwells in me is special too.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. I think it has begun to go off on a few tangents and so I would all who want to discuss further please to start a new thread of their own. If you wish to ask me something please send a PM. I do not intend to return to this thread but to go on to others.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
Jesus, we trust in You!

I do not know if you were putting this question to me or others but I can give you some answers. I really do not think God will ever give the devil any upper hand unless God permits the devil to do much more so that His Church will become stronger. In a very strange and yet incredible paradox God allows the devil more excessive weight this past century not to bring down the Church but rather to elevate the Church. The Church for some reason has been chosen to be the “Job” for these times. Job was an Old Testament person whom God allowed the devil permission to go after Job. It seems God has chosen the Church to be the “Job” for these present times. The Lord allows this extra activity of the devil so that God will have more of a “Spiritual” and “Courageous” Church. If God does not allow this extra activity of the devil we may have been even in a worse scenario. God is need of saints and to do this at times He must allow the devil to be “loosed for awhile”. Job was very courageous during his incredible ordeal and the Church is also becoming more courageous and spiritual as we are seeing this explosion of the Holy Spirit into many hearts of the peoples. We need as Laity to acquire this courage, this boldness and wisdom to become saints, to become more spiritual and to be the hope for this world. Only the Church can give this healing to the world. Just as Job’s prayers became a powerful antidote to his sufferings so the sufferings of the Church from the past 100 years will see this explosion of graces from God as the Church’s prayers become even more powerful. Nothing is ever wasted. Sufferings become the greatest tonic and antidote for the Church to be this great hope for the world. St. John Chrysostom the greatest Eastern Orthodox Church Father had said when we are granted a miracle than we owe God but when we are given the gift of suffering than it is God who owes us! Don’t ever forget that God remembers all sufferings and He responds to them in greater abundance of His Graces and Mercy to us and to the world.

I had operated a Christian bookstore from 1988 to 2008 and I only saw very few books written by Catholic lay peoples in the early years. I had sold both Catholic and Orthodox books and supplies. Yet in a very short while there was an explosion of gifted lay people from the Catholic Church to proclaim the Gospel. Many of the books were fast becoming written by Catholic Lay peoples. God was certainly sending His Holy Spirit to help His Church especially the Laity to become more alive in proclaiming the Gospel. In the Orthodox Churches the chrism of the Holy Spirit has always been effective to make witnesses for the Lord among the Lay people since many of the theologians from the Eastern Orthodox Churches were Lay peoples. But in the Catholic Church this urgency from God to uplift the Laity into the same level of activity as was once from Monastics and the clergy needs to take place now in this present time. The Catholic Laity were not that explosive in ministry in the past. Most of it was done through their monastics and clergy. Today we are now witnessing the explosive gifts and talents of the Laity. This explosive Laity will come to know how to implement the Gospel in accordance to the direction by which the Church has always taught it. This has never happened before within the Catholic Church. The time for the Laity to become this great missionary force is just what the Church needs, what God needs.

With the Orthodox Churches arriving to the shores where Catholics are in a majority we are witnessing another explosive event. For the first time in the history of our Churches we have now the possibilities to know each other. We can make personal contacts. In Canada and the United States we are living side by side. We can now knock on each other’s doors. It was if God wanted us (the Orthodox) to be here so at last we can come to discover each other personally. Orthodox and Catholics do not make much contacts where the countries are more predominantly Orthodox. So God to encourage this Unity must help the Orthodox to immigrant so that both parties, Catholic and Orthodox would be able to see for themselves this great mystery of what is the Catholic Church and Orthodox Church. I sense we are only in the beginning stages of our contacts here but with more encouragement especially from the Laity we will draw each other much closer than in any other generation that had lived. Remember it was because of these great sufferings from this past century that had enabled the Orthodox to immigrant in the first place. What was a great suffering from the past may turn into a greater blessing.

Sister Lucia said the consecration in 1984 did not fulfill the Fatima requests. The identical request was made the next year, with John Paul II’s remarks that heaven awaits the dedication of certain peoples, again not mentioning Russia. The consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart is the consecration requested through the living martyr, Blessed Alexandrina da Costa, paralyzed after jumping out of a window to avoid gang rape, and who subsisted for years on the Holy Eucharist alone. Her tombstone is a plea to sinners to repent.

mysticsofthechurch.com/2009/11/blessed-alexandrina-da-costa-mystic-and.html

Sister Lucia’s memoirs are informative as regards the universal, simultaneous, consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart by Peter, with all bishops, in their respective cathedrals, at a public, solemn occasion, for the conversion of Russia. This was given as the “only” means to a period of peace, and the requested time for the consecration was 1929, the year the decimation of Russia and the Ukraine began. Russia was estimated to have lost half her population, and half her animals that were slaughtered as disease vectors, via runaway biological weapons development welcomed by Stalin.

Russia’s infected Ixodes tick spread Lyme Disease here to the USA in tainted furs delivered by Senator Al Gore, Sr.'s patron and Stalin’s financier, Armand Hammer. This is how Al Gore, Jr. inherited Occidental Petroleum, and made the coup of “winning” the bid for the Elk Hills Naval Petroleum Reserve, part of the Teapot Dome scandal the Republicans flubbed and this Democrat, “won” during his tenure as Vice-President.
