I was away from the forum for a long time, so you will please forgive me for not having reviewed the thread before I respond to what seems to me an irresistable topic.

Paul (I am tempted to say, “of course”). He has the virtue of presenting an aspect of convincing reality in both his own and another’s words, and on top of that he is beyond doubt pretty much really what he is made out to be in the New Testament, something we can’t say in a secular and aside-from-faith sense even of The Lord. No, if there is one person other than Jesus in all of scripture I would have cared to know, it would be St. Paul.

Peter…so human, so infuriating, so insightful; and he rose to the occasion in Acts! Judith in the OT: now there was a woman not to mess with, I even took Judith as my confirmation name. Of course, the lovely, blessed Mary, and I have always admired John the Baptist, so humble, so forthright.

Both Josephs. My name is Joseph in real life.

Joseph the son of Jacob was picked on by his brothers, but eventually ended up becoming more important and more pleasing to God than all of the other ones.

Joseph the father of Jesus was ordained to protect Jesus until he was ready to preach the Gospel. And so, he was something of a “protector of the faith.” 👍

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always felt a certain affinity for St. Peter. There’s just something comforting about knowing that even someone who knew Jesus personally – who lived with, ate with, walked with, and learned from the Son of God in person – could still deny Him and yet still be forgiven.

Peace,
Dante

Who is your favorite Biblical figure besides Jesus. I decided to limit things because I knew if I didn’t, Jesus would almost certainly win by default. So here are my favorites:
  • Peter–He seems to be the most human of the Apostles. Plus, I feel I’d probably screw up almost as much as he did.
  • Mary–When I was little, I thought she was unreachable, but now I realize she also suffered.
  • David–I love those psalms.

Moses, or Peter, or Paul 🙂 - it’s impossible to choose. St.Paul (or Moses - I can’t decide) is my favourite theologian. Next to Moses: Enoch or Methuselah.

Favourite Patriarch after the Flood - Terah father of Abraham

Favourite King of Judah: Hezekiah

Favourite Prophet: Isaiah
