What’s the one about C.S. Lewis, where he meets his wife? I love that one but I forget the name.

My favorite:

The Blues Brothers

What? They’re on a mission from God!
that is a really funny movie! Aah, the movies I saw in college…

If anyone says they like “Dogma” I’ll whip’em with a hot mop!

For me “The Passion of the Christ”.

1 The Passion ofthe Christ
2 The Ten Commandments
3 Billy Graham movies (The Prodigal-especially)

I used to like the series of movies about the end times made in the 70’s (eg “A Distant Thunder, The Image of the Beast”)–Cheesy–anyone remember those?

Used to love them while I was involved with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship while at college.

Passion of the Christ
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Chronicles of Narnia
The Omega Code
The Omega Code II

“Therese”
A funny story (not the movie, but my experience):
My husband and I are hosting an exchange student from Japan. She was already Catholic and attended all of our RCIA classes…has been with us through everything! ANYWAY, we had the opportunity to go see this wonderful movie, Tomo and myself. When the movie ended…I was choking back tears (no Kleenex). We sat there…watching the credits roll…we didn’t speak…then, I felt like I had to say something…I looked at her and said, “I think we should wait a few minutes to leave” The theater lights were reflecting on her just right - her face was just as wet from eyebrow to bottom lip as mine was! So we just sat there…What a beautiful movie! What a wonderful experience! I want to see it again!

God Bless you ALL!

I haven’t seen this movie, but wasn’t it a slam on Christians? Like the Christians were bad but the non Christians were good? Just what I heard… ?
It’s more of a critic of hypocritcal protestants. It isn’t anti-Christian per se.

Was this the series that started off with, “A Thief in the Night”?

Keys of the Kingdom

the one with Clifton Webb and William Holden as missionary priests in communist China, cant think of the name

We’re no Angels with Robert DiNiro, Sean Penn and Demi Moore (I think that is the name, there is another flic with a similar title from the 50s with Humphrey Bogart and 2 others as escapees from Devils Island which is also good about forgiveness and redemption, very funny)

Entertaining Angels - life of Dorothy Day

The Quiet Man

Babe gives one of the most profound Christian messages I have ever seen in a film. (the one dear granddaughter age 3 calls the Pig Movie)

Trouble with Angels - Hayley Mills and Rosalind Russell in a girl’s Catholic school

saw a made for TV movie last year about righteous gentiles, those who worked to save Jews from the Nazis in Poland, Holland and elsewhere.

there was a cute movie on HBO about a little boy in a Catholic school trying to find reassurance that his dead grandfather was in heaven, had Rosie ODonnel as a nun, very good portrayal of child’s spirituality and how adults help or hinder.

Yours, Mine and Ours with Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball

I loved the Sound of Music. I particularly loved the song Mother Superior sang. Climb Every Mountain " Also it protrayed Nuns very well.

Why hasn’t anyone chosen “A Man for All Seasons”? Our family never tires of watching it (even the young ones). Our 5yr old named Thomas More always quotes “I’m the King’s good servant, but God’s first!”
“The Mission”-long and depressing, but portrays a very holy priest.
Both historically based.

yep, that’s the one!!

Good for a laugh now, Loved them before I came back to the heart of the Church.

I had the exact same experience with this film. Sadly outside this forum I don’t know of anyone else who likes it. Sometimes I wonder if me and the people who hate it and say that it’s anti-semitic saw the same movie. Oh well. :hmmm:

The Passion of the Christ

Sorry to have an obvious answer, but it is not only my favorite Christian movie, but my favorite movie period. I believe the Lord was at work through those who produced it. Along with many others, it changed my life and brought me closer to Jesus. It’s actually not enough to say it changed my life - it really changed my heart by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Ben Hur. My favorite movie of all time. The book’s good too.
