Okay, I haven’t been here in awhile (I’m Protestant with interests in Catholicism) and I ventured here to see if anybody was talking about Ruth Graham. Didn’t see any threads but stumbled across this and had to say my part:
  • 2nd Chapter Of Acts
  • Keith Green
  • John MIchael Talbot
These 3 artists have inspired me tremendously!
  • Larry Norman
  • Randy Stonehill
  • Resurrection Band (Glenn Kaiser)
These 3 artists have challenged me!
Where have all the good music gone?

Well nosing through these things, but I have to answer, welcome to the boards person of great taste. Always a Larry fan, (although late) has to say hello. 🙂

Randy didnt listen to much, but it was Rez Band that got me on a definate path, something about “If you cant come forward with all these believers, just when are you going to!” Suddenly I was walking… .

for the thread; aside from these guys

U2, (sorry not in some catagories, but its the way it is.

and Third Day,

The Violet Burning, listening to right now 🙂

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned my all-time favorite CCM bands:

Third Day
Chris Tomlin

Third Day is awesome. The lead singer has the strong male vocal that seems to reverberate through me. His name is Mac Powell, and his deep, gravelly voice is amazing.

Chris Tomlin, on the other hand, has song after song that means so much to me. He’s got some of the best praise & worship songs that I’ve ever heard.

Sorry, I’m one of those Christians who believes that all good Christian rock music ended when 2nd Chapter of Acts finally broke up their group. 😦

I went to see Matthew Ward a few years ago, and he’s still really good. Old, like me, but good.

I’m lost in the 70s and 80s when it comes to Christian rock music.
I haven’t thought about 2nd Chapter of Acts for years. Yes, those were the days.

Amy Grant
Degarmo and Key
Don Francisco
Petra
Larry Norman
The Boone Family Sings The Songs Of The Jesus People (ouch)

I will always be thankful for my formative Evangelical decades and the music that went with them.

I just bought THE CHRISTIAN GUITAR TAB WHITE PAGES. There were a bunch of songs and bands I didn’t know, So I had to buy and download them from iTunes. One of the favorite groups I discovered was called PRAY FOR RAIN, also known as PFR. I liked them a lot because they had Beatle-esque harmonies in the vocals along with some pretty groovie tunes.

Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns are among my favorite christian music
