My husband *hates *that movie. I find it very funny as well.

I also really like Napoleon Dynamite, which he hates as well. But I knew so many socially awkward people in high school (and I was myself), and there’s so much about that ridiculous movie that feels familiar.

But perhaps if you’re well-adjusted it just doesn’t make sense to you.

I like that non-traditional humor. Which is why I like the TV series “Frasier” too.
Not just the gags, but the puns and dry wit as well.

Joe & I pretty much have Best In Show memorized at this point.

People think I’m endorsing the behavior in the film.

WHATS UP DOC with Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’neal is a remake of BRINGING UP BABY with Kate Hepburn and Cary Grant…

They are both screwball comedies.

I recently saw “The In-Laws” for the first time. That scene is so silly, and to see Peter Falk acting that silly was awesome. I had a great number of laughs. Alan Arkin as the straight laced dentist was great. “There’s no need to shoot at me, I’m a dentist!” “There are flames on my car! There are flames on my car!”

As for the first three the remakes are dismal while remaking Blazing Saddles would be impossible.

I love the Peter Sellers’ films such as The Pink Panther and A Shot in the Dark. Being There has some hysterical moments as well. I would add to your list, Airplane! and Victor Victoria.

We own it, but stop and watch it every time we see it’s on. Like just last night actually.

See it!! Every time we watch it, we laugh even more. And I probably have seen it 10 times! sometimes, just the small faces that Grodin makes, subtle, but hilarious.

I loved the book, the movie not so much, it suffered from coming out too long after the book.
He wrote another other book I wish would be made into a film: Supreme Courtship where, after all of a president’s nominees are shot down he nominates a popular Judge Judy type.
