Rocky is beautiful. I"m so sorry he’s gone! But I think he would want you to give another Maine Coon a loving home. 💖

Yes, and if memory serves, he never learned to read music…he just played!

Next you’ll be telling me he made a perfect French omelette on his first try!

I’ve heard of people like this, but their brain is wired so differently from mine that I can’t imagine how they pick these things up.

One of my favorites is the late Rory Gallagher. I don’t know how to put a video up, but look for him on You Tube. He is amazing.

Bireli Lagrene and Sylvain Luc

Kentucky’s Ben Lacy!

In Levon Helm’s autobiography, “This Wheel’s On Fire”, he reveals that Garth Hudson was such a musical prodigy that whenever The Band wanted to record an instrument nobody in the band knew how to play, rather than hiring a studio musician, they would just buy the instrument and send Garth out into the woods behind the house where they recorded for about an hour, and he’d come back with it, ready to play. So, yeah, there are people like that.

Thank you! Yes…the breeder where we got him has about a 3 yr waiting list for her kittens, but gives her prior kitten buyers preference when she has new litters. I just put us on her list last week. She has two litters expected by the end of this year, so hopefully, our new guy will be with us before very long. We have an older Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - “Miss GRace” - who was Rocky’s best friend from the day we brought Miss Grace home. They eat together, slept together, played hide and seek together, and Rocky taught Miss Grace her “house manners”. MIss Grace still runds all over the house looking for Rocky because she thinks he’s playing hide and seek with her. It’s funny and sad at the same time.

That’s pretty impressive. I think Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones was a bit like that, a natural multi-instrumentalist who didn’t need much time to ‘figure out’ a new instrument.

I never knew how talented Elton John was until I was his Rocket Man movie. He has perfect pitch, and could take a set of lyrics from Bernie Taupin and have a song written “in the time it takes you to make a sandwich” as one of his friends once said.

I’m sure most, if not all, prodigies have perfect pitch. But still…

Does anybody have a link to a list of the top guitar riffs of all time?

Just curious as I heard someone talk about the 24th top guitar riff…made me wonder what the first 23 might be!

🤓

Animals know. Give Miss Grace a hug from me.

A random thought - because animals know: My sister’s Sheltie will be watching TV, and if the actor walks out of sight, the dog goes behind the TV to find him!

If somebody on TV cries, especially a baby, my dog will get up, go get one of his toys, and then bring it back and place it in front of the TV.

Thanks! I will.

LOL!!! That’s hilarious.

Awe… thanks for all that interesting stuff about Keith Urban. I didn’t expect my little jealous quip to get such a constructive response. 🙂

Perhaps, as an Aussie man and guitar tragic, I look on at his talents and success with a more personal perspective.

Here, he is almost equally known as the husband of Nicole Kidmann.

That sounds great! I’m a huge fan of American country singing and guitar, and generally the more “authentic” (ie. less pop) the better - but I like it all when it’s well played.

Which reminds me of one of my favourite guitarists, who also writes and sings:

Was he still struggling with substance abuse when he married Nicole Kidmann? I’m wondering why she’d want to take on such a burden.
