First, Eddie Van Halen is great at one thing. That doesn’t make him a great guitarist. It just makes him great at one thing and unfortunately, that one thing is all gimmick.

Second, Brad Paisley is an entertaining guitar player, but among guitar players, he’s consider to be very sloppy, technically.
Is Brad Paisley the guy in those Nationwide insurance commercials with Peyton Manning?

Alan Collins was great, but I think Steve Gaines, who joined the band later on, was better.

Most of the previous, especially Glen Campbell
Buckethead is the most talented guitarist I have ever heard.

For classical style guitar, if you ever get a chance to attend one of John Michael Talbot’s missions/concerts, go very early or volunteer to help. You want to hear him rehearse and soundcheck.
Yes - John Michael Talbot. His guitar playing is relatively simple, but just perfectly builds the song with his voice, and has a beautiful, rich tone.

Steve Hackett
Of Genesis. A very melodious, classical style, player. Loved his stuff!

Things money can’t buy…

Rock royalty meet the Queen.

“I’m Jimmy Page, I’m a guitarist”

Has anyone mentioned Ace Frehley?

He would also fall into the Favorite Laughs category too.

I can’t say much about Ace Frehley’s work, but it wouldn’t surprise me to hear he is a very good guitarist. You don’t create memorable songs without something substantial behind the image. Just today I was in Burger King and I heard a catchy guitar riff in the background. I looked at the screen and it was KISS - and that catchy guitar was turned into a compelling three minute song (albeit OTT in the fire and theatrics! 😝) .
