Favorite Images of Mary

I like images that express her humanity. La Pieta is one I like a lot. I saw a statue at a retreat center that had a profound impact. It was Mary and Joseph looking down at Jesus who was about 2 years old and dipping his hand in a pond. It just looked so natural. Liek it could have been me with my kids. We see so many majestic images of the Holy Family, that we can lose perspective that Jesus became HUMAN for us, and he was like us and had the same problems we face, and loved his mom like we love our mom.

I wonder about the Blessed Mother with the halo of twelve stars over Her. Do those stars represent the twelve apostles?

The twelve tribes of Israel is more commonly believed.

Rev 12:1 A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2 She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth.
 
I like Images of Mary,when she was at the Cross,or when she has her hands out,and the rays of light come from them,and also when she shows her Immuclate Heart with thorns around it.

Since Our Lady has been referred to as being both “Queen of Apostles” and “Queen of Patriarchs” I think both explanations are good.
 
All I can say is that, Mary is very Beautiful no matter what Image she looks like.
