Another one I like is “Mater Dolorosa” by Dieric Bouts, a Renaissance-era Dutch artist. I couldn’t get it to upload here but if you google the artist’s name and title of the painting you will find it.

I first saw this painting at The Art Institute of Chicago and I thought it was incredibly detailed… you can see that the Blessed Mother’s eyes are all red and there are tears running down her cheeks as if she is really weeping.

I know this is a silly question to ask but are there any images, statues, sculptures, etc. of Our Lady that were “made” by Saints or Holy men and women?

Here is one by Sr. Genevieve of the Holy Face (Celine Martin) St. Therese’s sister and as you may know St. Therese was an artist herself.
