Favorite movie SCENE!

Never favorite movie.
The entire movie may be so-so or even lousy, but any movie may have a scene you can’t forget.

Examples:
  1. the parting of the Red Sea in The Ten Commandments
  2. the chariot race in Ben-Hur
  3. Richard Burton jumping from one cable car to another in Where Eagles Dare
  4. car chasing the elevated train in The French Connection
    5, the Captain being given his mission to get Col. Kirk in Apocalypse Now “He’s out there using methods completely beyond the pale of any standards of civilized behavior, and he’s still commanding troops in the field.”
Your favorite?
 
One-eyed Rooster Cogburn charging at Lucky Ned Pepper and his gang, reins in his teeth, two six-shooters blazing! YeeeeHawwww! True Grit. :D:D:D
 
The healing of Ben-Hur’s mother and sister towards the end of the movie. As they are being healed of their leprosy, the camera flashes back to Jesus on the cross who had just died.
 
The Blues Brothers - when they are on stage singing Everybody Needs Somebody to Love.
 
I have lots of favorites. Here are a few:
-Any of the lightsaber duels in Star Wars I, II, or III. 😃
-The Scourging at the Pillar from The Passion of Christ (it has sooooo much depth :crying:)
-That scene in Jurassic Park where the water is rippling in the cup of water on the dashboard. Again :D.
-Lord of the Rings-anything with elves. 😃

Sheesh, I am such a nerd, aren’t I? 🤷
 
Opening scene in Saving Private Ryan. Not that I like seeing people getting mowed down, but its a powerful scene.
Happy Gilmore when he yells at the ball, “That’s your home! Why didnt you go to your home!” something like that
 
Any scene in Apocalypse Now with Dennis Hopper’s character…or with Killgore.
 
The last scene of Ben Hur when Judah sees his mother and sister healed of leprosy, goes up the stairs and embraces them, along with his bride to be Esther. That scene always makes me cry whenever I see it.
 
  1. Bridge On the River Kwai - The last scene where they’re yelling to get the soldier to kill the colonel and blow up the bridge.
  2. It’s a Wonderful Life - When Mary comes in with the honeymoon money so George can keep the Building and Loan afloat.
  3. Flight of the Phoenix (the original) - Using the remaining cartridges to start the engine.
  4. The Iron Giant - Everything from “Where’s the Giant, Mansley?!” to “Suuupermaaan.”
  5. The Train - The last scene where Labische derails the train and the Colonel, with the hostages and the stolen art on the ground gives his “A painting means as much to you as a string of pearls to an ape” speech.
  6. UHF - Spatula City! Spatula City!

I got to agree UHF was awesome, personally I like the scene when Stanley is tied up in the janitors closet, he feels that all is lost and all of a sudden “MY MOP.”
 
Rocky IV–where Adrian arrives in Russia and tells Rocky, “I’m with you.” He says, “No matter what?” She responds, “No matter what.” And then he brings it!
 
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly where the dying commanding officer gets “good news” as Angel Eyes and Tuco blow up the bridge. Also, the three way gunfight.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea the scenes of the Nautilus moving at the camera at ramming speed, the water splashing over the “eyes” of the sea monster.

Goldfinger The “Do you expect me to talk, Goldfinger?” scene. Parodied here:

Labyrinth the Escher scene. (Perhaps that’s more a favorite environment than a scene).

And my favorite scene That They Didn’t Film:
Fellowship of the Rings when they’re all arguing about who will take the ring, ancient Bilbo stops the argument by telling them all that since he’s the silly hobbit who found the thing, he’ll be the one to get rid of it.

Alas. I didn’t have much complaint with what they cut out (or added) to the movie, but that scene should have been there.

There is an Italian film called Cinema Paradiso.

I have two favorite scenes. Toto is courting Elena and he vows to wait under her window until she falls in love with him. He asks her for a sign- for her to open the shutter-that would mean she loves him as well.

Weeks and months pass, and he loses hope, and rips up the calendar he was recording the dates on. She walks in and they kiss.

Also, the end scene where the adult Toto views the gift that Alfredo had left for him. :bighanky:

6, Scarlett O’Hara rising from the ground and saying, “As God is my witness I shall never be hungry again” in Gone With The Wind
7. Theresa staring down four million North Koreans in Empress Theresa.
( OK. That may be a little premature. 😊 🤷 )
 
I think of lots but two that come to mind are:

Leave Her to Heaven (scene where Jean Teirney lets her brother in law drown at her husbands lake house) Jeans acting here was some of the best I’ve seen. She played a feminine fatal who becomes obssesed and possessive of of the people she loves wanting their entire attention which is her motivation for the murder.

Winter’s Bone (scene where Jennifer Lawrences charactor Bree (I think) takes her mentally distrubed mother out into their woods for a heart to heart talk about wether to sell the land or not as money is needed to feed the family and take care of her brother and sister. Both actresses in this scene were outstanding and it made me a Jennifer Lawrence fan. She asks her mother for help and explains what the land means to her but her mother is only there physically and remains in a canatonic state through the whole movie)
 
I have maaaaany favorite movie scenes, but I want to scream of excitation :extrahappy: at the following scenes:
  • All the lightsabers duels in the 6 *Star Wars *movies;
