  1. “Open the pod bay doors, HAL” in 2001: A Space Odyssey
  2. Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise counting cards at blackjack table at Ceasar’s Palace in The Rainman ( if I’d been the director, I would have done a lot more with that scene )
  3. Tarzan jumping off the George Washington Bridge in "Tarzan’s New York Adventure "(1942) You’d think some movie director would try to top this. Nobody has tried.
    ( Theresa falls eleven miles into the South Atlantic without a parachute )

One of my favorites is from “The Song of Bernadette” when Our Lady appears to Bernadette for the first time… I love the music in this scene as well! Here is that scene. The apparition begins about 1min. 20 sec. into this clip.

The burning bush scene in The Ten Commandments.
This is the first time God has told man of his infinite existence.
“I AM that I AM” speaks volumes. God doesn’t exist because of something. He is existence. And his infinity in every way follows.

Kind of hard to beat the message in a scene like that.

From To Die For , a black comedy loosely based on the Pamela Smart murder case where 22 year old teacher Smart had sex with a fifteen year old student to get him to kill her husband so she could collect insurance and break into television:

"Tell me about Bane! Why does he where the mask?" DKR prologue was the best scene of 2012. It was the most memorable for me.
