Pope Pius XII
For his efforts in trying to save the Jews.
Pope Benedict XVI
His commitment to tradition and what he has done for the TLM.

Same for me. Pope Pius Xll, and Pope Benedict XVl, for the reasons you’ve described above. I would add that Pope Benedict’s calmness and charity in the face of adversity is also very commendable.

Peter of course, then Gregory, Pius X, Leo XIII.

I love Peter because I think I would have liked him personally, his personality (Lord, you won’t wash my feet, then yikes, wash my hands and head too; and he suffered such pain of regret and sorrow for his denial on Good Friday.) I remember reading that Pius X was a very humble and holy man, and complained once about all the elaborate vestments he had to wear. Leo XIII, can only remember right now that he gave us the St. Michael prayer. And also Pope St Gregory for chant.
What he said! I feel like you just read my mind. xD
👍

Not really in order, but:

Pope St Pius V
Blessed Pope Pius IX
Pope St Pius X

I think I see a trend here. As for my least favourite?..nah 😉

Pope Saint Gregory VII, Pope Leo XIII and Pope Saint Pius X. In no particular order. Also have to add Pope Benedict XVI.

No particular order:

Pope Benedict XVI
Pope Saint Pius X
Blessed Pope Urban II
Saint Peter

Pope St. Pius X. He is not only my favorite Pope but the saint of my baptismal name 🙂

John Paul II, for being a great constant throughout my youth. Benedict XVI, for being the only Pope I’ve had the privilege to see in the flesh, and a marvellously inspirational writer. Leo XIII, for restoring an independent hierarchy to Scotland.

Oh, and Pope Hilarius, because of, well… the name.

Blessed John Paul II is and always will be my favorite for many personal reasons.

Of course in saying that, I’ve really grown to admire the work that Pope Benedict XVI is doing.

In no particular order:

Pope St. Pius X
Pope Leo XIII
Pope St. Pius V

Pius X
Pius V
Pius IX
Pius XII

Each of these for calling a spade a spade, for not folding like a deck of cards, for doing the Lord’s unpopular work, for not caring if the world loved them and for not being loved by the world.

Ditto. I’m glad nobody asked who my least favorite ones were. I’d be kicked off CAF probably 🙂

I like our current Holy Father very much. I read his first encyclical and found it beautiful. And I really like his calm, quiet and gentle character and the fact that his writing is accessible. I also like John Paul I, the Smiling Pope. Currently, I’m looking into life of Pope Pius XII.

But there’s been great popes especially within the last century. The more I read, the harder it’s going to be choose.

Pope Michael I

JUST KIDDING!!! 😃

My favorite is JP II, and Benedict, because he is the current one. 🙂

In general, I like popes named John, Pius, and Benedict. Pius XII might be my favorite pope. I really like Benedict XVI too. And, of course, who couldn’t like Good Pope John, even if he did call the council that destroyed the church?
