I wear mine all the time but it’s not for fashion. I wear it first of all so I won’t lose it out of my pocket because I rarely carry a purse, and second because I pray the Rosary or Divine Mercy in the car a lot and I can’t hold it in my hand while I’m driving - I tried and it didn’t work well and was a distraction from driving - so I follow the old custom of just having the Rosary “on one’s person” when I drive. Sometimes it’s under my clothes but sometimes it’s out because I need to cross myself with it or don’t want to get it tangled up with my Miraculous Medal and scapular.
 
Unfortunately the nice rosaries most of the time are made of metal. The links eventually open with use and then break apart. Your rope rosaries which are made with nylon rope are almost impossible to break. Most of the time they take second place. One of my favorites is the rope cord rosary that I made.
 
If you like to pray the rosary while driving, look into getting a rosary ring. I bought some from rosaryshop.com and keep one in my truck, one next to my bed, one in my desk at work, and one in my “man cave”
 
I now have 2 paracord rosaries with the beads (as shown) and 2 others that are just nylon rope knotted rosaries with a knotted cross and wooden Pater beads. The nylon knotted rosaries are great for travel as they have no metal on them, are small (I wrap them around my wrist) and don’t set off metal detectors. I’m debating whether to add a medal or medals to one because it would make it set off metal detectors if I did.

There are people who make wirewrap rosary beads in such a way that the links are unlikely to open unless you really yank it, but I prefer these paracord ones to be honest. They are more utilitarian and when you are praying multiple rosaries and chaplets a day you need one that will take a beating.
 
This one is almost identical to mine except I have a St. Benedict medal attached to the side of the Miraculous Medal and I left the pardon crucifix on it. It is my all time favorite rosary to pray with
 
I have some but that’s harder for me than the method I use, which is to put the rosary around my neck, cross myself with the cross at beginning and end, and say everything in between keeping track with my fingers.
 
I keep mine in a pouch my wife bought me in Mexico on our honeymoon to help if not tangle and keep its finish. I doubt mine would lose the finish since it’s metal.
 
I truly believe that it’s our Lord pointing those of us who are coming back home to the Holy Rosary of his Mother. It’s the most powerful prayer “weapon” we have as Catholics. There are no words to describe how beautiful it has been finding all of these rosaries since coming back.
 
I tend to agree. The rope rosaries do take a beating and last a long time. I like to put the crucifix on that is made of metal. Somthing about metal verses plastic, it makes a nicer rope rosary
 
I’ve held and handled my first rosary so much that all the finish has gone off the silver chain and the corpus on the crucifix. I don’t mind - it gives it kind of a golden sheen.
 
I keep it in my pocket so I can pray it while I’m walking or waiting. I think the metal one is a bit smaller, too, so that’d be nice.
 
My favorite rosary has the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on one side and Our Lady of Lourdes on the other side. A beautiful silver crucifix and the beads are light pink mixed with maroon colored stones.
 
I knew someone who would sleep with a rosary ring on. Pray without ceasing!
 
I have a rosary like the one you describe. I wonder if yours is a Job’s Tear bead rosary.
 
My rosary is a work horse. It goes with me everywhere, stuffed in pockets, purse, etc. It goes through the washer sometimes 🙂 So it has to be sturdy and fairly compact. For this reason I like those inexpensive “rose-scented” wood rosaries you can buy in any Catholic store. I bought my current one in Rome; the medal is Pope Francis. The rose smell is now quite faint but still there.
i have several others, including a beautiful large inherited crystal one, but I really like the natural feel of wood as well as its durability.
 
I have been wearing 3 saint medals and a crucifix and gotten through TSA
 
Doesn’t always work - it depends on where you were going through, what system they use and how high they have it turned up.

My Miraculous Medal that I wear every day is a hard plastic also so I don’t have to take it off. There need to be more hard plastic or wood medal options.
 
I used to have Maximilian Kolbe (My Confirmation saint and the reason for my handle on CAF), a Miraculous Medal, and JP2, along with a crucifix, but I lost them at the beach 😦
