I like Scrubs even better than before.

I watched the new West Wing episode tonight–great. They’ve still got it!

In the morning before going to work Ive got to have my Bonanza on tvland. it sets a good mood for the day for me. Im getting ready for work while watching it. at nite I like monday nite football. now a question for roemer Am i Pissing my life away by RELAXING to tv? I work at a physical job 6 days a week up to 12 hours a day that does nothing with my mind. when I get home I want the physical side to rest and lets my mind have some use and have some fun, with either tv or internet. Roemer I really hope you read this, because I eagerly await your response to me!

Watching TV is pissing your life away.
You could be right if that was all someone was doing with their time.

What about an hour a day? Is that pissing your life away? What about two? Three?

What about working 8 hour days and then sleeping for 8 hours? That only leaves 8 hours !!!

We all better stop working, stop sleeping, and stop watching tv because we are just pissing our lives away.

Tell me Roemer, what exactly do you do with your 24 hours a day so we can follow in your footsteps and not piss our lives away?

I love American dreams.

I also like to watch ER, Everybody Loves Raymond, Desperate Housewives, and Medical Investigation.

I like SNL and MadTV on saturday nights.

The greatest TV show ever to exist has to be The Simpsons!! Compared to the smutfest that is “reality TV”, the simpsons looks like a lesson in Christian morality, even if Lisa is a total liberal!
The writing is the very best, but there is an overt anti-Christian agenda. E.g. Lisa becomes a buddhist - treated as a good thing; Simpson kids are going to be baptised - NOOOOOOO! They are ‘saved’ by Homer. Plus the promotion of Homosexuality in at least three shows.

Shows I like:-
Any Sci-fi
Law & Order
C.S.I.
Any war documentaries

I forgot to mention “Lost”. I knew I was forgetting one. Great new show.Malia

I guess my favorite show right now is Veronica Mars.

I did enjoy American Dreams. Other favorites are Malcolm in the Middle, Lost, Desperate Housewives, and 24.

I watch 7th Heaven purely for the snark value. Annie’s crazy, Lucy’s a shrew, Kevin is controlling. We have a Catholic who apparantly has little interest Catholic law re marriage, and doesn’t seem to care that much about the children’s faith.

I like L&O and CSI, but it’s okay if I miss them.

And I’m so sick of that “War on Choice” poster on Gilmore Girls. It distracts me from aly dialogue when it’s included in a scene. Otherwise, it’s an enjoyable enough show but it’s not appointment TV.

Grounded for Life was a cute show. They also sent their children to Catholic School.

I just wanted to warn a bit about some secular TV. My wife and I were watching SCI-FI channel with my son one evening a discovered that, although the shows may not be all that bad, THE COMMERCIALS were EXTREMELY sexual and in poor taste. Whichever secular tv you watch, me cautious of the ads that pay for that show to air. THEY are the ones who make or break the show. I suggest watching your child’s favorite show for an hour or 2 with them, and make note of the commercials. That will be a good judge for you. IMHO.
This is so true. Since my husband and I are welcoming our first child in about 7 months, as we watch TV, we are more aware of what is appropriate. We find outselves saying, “well, we won’t be watching this show much longer.” In general, there are very few TV shows I would watch with children in the room. And too many shows have ads for E.D. drugs!!:nope:

That being said, some of my favorites are
American Idol
King of Queens
Desperate Housewives
Scrubs
Monk
and I love those new Nanny reality shows with the out of control children…:o . Teaches how to discipline children.

My guilty pleasure is Gilmore Girls, but that poster bugs me too:mad:

My favorite is “24” and we watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition as a family.

Once in awhile I catch Cold Case or Without a Trace.

Here’s my list…

Revelations (it sooo creepy but good)
Family Guy
Arrested Development
CSI (the original only)
South Park (cartmen rules!!)
Trailer Park Boys (canadian show, I think they just started airing in the states though)

Raymond (I missed most of this season because the bickering was getting on my nerves; but with the finale, I got to thinking I’ve missed out)

Gilmore Girls (a little left of center, but so clever with pop culture and obscure historical references…and there’s LUKE:D )

Extreme Home Makeover (It has become a real heart tugger)

Oldies in re-runs: Boy Meets World (got silly the last couple of years), Little House (always good for a few tears), Highway to Heaven (corny but sincere), Doctor Who (cheesey but addictive)

Stargate (the original and Atlantis), CSI, NCIS, Futurama, Simpsons, Family Guy, Aqua Teen, and Sealab! And, I have to admit, I’m a closet Survivor junkie!

Oops…forgot one of my biggest complaints about 7th heaven. It seems everyone rushes into marriege so that they can have sex.

Yes, that subject was brought up in the show several weeks ago, but hey, at least they wait for marriage! I do love that show. 🙂

I stopped liking “new” TV shows somewhere in the 1980’s. So my faves are old shows, like I Love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver, Mary Tyler Moore, Honeymooners, Little House on the Prairie. I did like Star Trek - Next Generation and Voyager – but not the atheism they sometimes pushed.

Even though I’m home in the day, I can’t bear the racket from TV. I turn it on around 6 to see the news and since we’ve got cable now, I can watch Law & Order most anytime I want. I also like A&E for the American Justice series. History Channel sometimes has a good show. Other than that, I don’t bother. It’s mostly boring.

But they got married for sex. IMHO, that’s just as bad to the dignity of the body.

And the way Kevin belittles Lucy and blames her for his faults.

And Annie practically forced Lucy to marry Kevin, even when Lucy was having doubts. Now she puts Lucy down for getting married right away and not having a life and career before settling down.

I used to really enjoy the show, but now I find it really horrible. I watch it to see what depths it has sunk to this week.

Now, please let us not get into a flame-war over the merits and demerits of 7th heaven.
