Y’all are going to think I’m strange… I don’t watch a whole lot of TV, but there are some programs I try not to miss. Some is just mental bubblegum. I go through cycles; i.e. I don’t watch all of these all the time. The ones with asterisks are the ones where I never miss a new episode. In no particular order:

Dr. G, Medical Examiner*
Forensic Files
Speeders
Animal Cops*
Planet’s Funniest Animals
Shows with video of hot police pursuits
Robot Chicken* (yeah, I know…)
Invader Zim
The Fairly Odd Parents
Edgar and Ellen*
Shows with cartoons from the '30s and '40s
Mother Angelica “Live”
World Music
Fr. Corapi
(memory gap…) the dog training show with Victoria Stillwell
Red Sox and Rockies games
Broncos games

There it is, FWIW.

God bless us all,

Ruthie
You have such a wide range of tastes, Ruthie! My dd LOVE Fairly Odd Parents…too much. :o  It seems like it’s always on!

We almost never watch TV, but the two shows we do always watch (online) are:
LOST and Doctor Who. If we still had cable, I’d also watch Mythbusters.

24 is amazing, just a real nail biter.

When I first heard about it, I thought how silly it was going to be: would we spend the whole first hour watching our hero get up, brush his teeth, etc? Happily, no: that’s not how it works at all.

Sadly, the creative genius behind the show, Joel Surnow, has been fired the upcoming season will be completely different than what has come before.

By all means, get your hands on the DVDs-- you can buy/rent them one season at a time. But you’ll find it really, really hard to turn them off before the whole 24 hours are over.

Ruthie, you’re thinking, “It’s Me or the Dog”.

Before my youngest DD flew the nest and I moved to Viy rginia all by myself for the first time in, actually my life (not counting college as I always had a roommate or two)… .I watched what she did, or my mother did. So I’m familiar with all these shows mentioned.

Now I watch Jeopardy!
Youngest DD has asked me to watch Survivor down here so that she can call me up afterward and have somebody to talk to about it!

I’ll turn on the Weather Channel in the morning to check the temperature and forecast, quickly.
If there is a good movie on Turner Classic Movies or American Movie Classics, I’ll watch that. If there is something on Masterpiece or Mystery that sounds good, I’ll watch that.

If I’m in the middle of a knitting project on Sunday night I’ll put on Hallmark for "Murder She Wrote’.

That’s it. I have a radio for classical music when I need some ‘background noise’.

Every time I want to check out something on EWTN it seems that somebody calls me, or it’s an episode I’ve already seen. But I’m looking forward to All Saints’ Mass, and to the Advent and Christmas programming!

I usually watch more TV on weekends and then it’s early morning shows on W, a specialty channel on Canadian cable.

Reruns of
Smart Women
Hope Island
Zoe Buziek, Wild Card
Mysterious Ways
Take This House and Sell It
Colour Confidential
The Shopping Bags

At night the only shows I usually sit for (other than the news) are:
House
CSIS
Bones

I hate reality shows, don’t care for game shows or most of the comedy shows – Corner Gas is the exception but since it’s not shown in my neck of the woods I have to get my Davis fix via DVDs.

Shows I used to watch faithfully were Joan of Arcadia & Gilmore Girls but since GG ended there hasn’t been a show to keep me home in the evening.

Law & Order (anything, including re-runs)
North Mission Road
Forensic Files
Cold Case
NCIS
Designined to Sell (& just about antything on HGTV)
Iron Chef America
Project Runway
Top Chef
Fr. Corapi
Anything with Scott Hahn
Journey Home
The Rosary with Mother Angelica

Since I have been disabled & not able to work, I mostly listen to TV & do my knitting (I make hats for a children’s cancer clinic & I have just started doing Prayer Shawls)

I agree with Sam Maloney about 24. I thought the same thing when I heard about it because I thought about how boring and tedious it would be to spend 24 hours with me. But the show is about a Counter Terrorism Unit in Los Angeles, and they are always literally trying to save the city/country/world from terrorists attacks and it moves very fast. There is quite a bit of violence, though. I thought the first few seasons were the best.

Agreed. Coolest show on TV. I hope Season 7 is done well.

The only show I watch regularly anymore is CSI:NY.

NBC cancelled Las Vegas and Sci-Fi hasn’t shown MST3K (greatest show ever by the way) reruns in like 4 years so now I have to watch those on DVD.

Did you like Las Vegas? lol It’s funny how everyone’s tastes are different…I just couldn’t ever get into that show.:o

Argh! (Warning: rant follows.)

I watched exactly 1/4 of one of the fictional CSI shows with my niece, before I had to leave the room. I am a major fan of forensic science, and have a couple of hundred well-read books about it, and have watched many, many of the true crime shows.

For starters, some of the facts and methods were all wrong. But I bit my tongue.

But when the female CSI with the long, flowing hair, wearing a mini skirt and 4-inch spike heels, showed up at a crime scene, I had had it.

No CSI would wear their long hair down. You don’t want your hair mixed in with the trace evidence.

Go to any police station and look. *None *of the women who go to crime scenes will be wearing a mini skirt. You’re going to get in all kinds of awkward positions. So unless you want to get disciplined for letting your other colleagues do all the collecting work, you’re going to wear pants. (And if the scene is one where you have to put on protective suits… They all have legs. How ya gonna put one on over a skirt?)

4-inch spike heels? Ever tried to walk anywhere but a smooth surface with them? They sink into dirt, they get caught in the holes on manhole covers, etc etc. I speak from experience - and I only wore them to bars and parties. The *only *reason to wear them is to be sexy. Anyone going where they will have to walk over unknown surfaces, and anyone who might need to move quickly, will be wearing flats or wedgies (and those heels won’t be 4 inches high).

End of rant.

The only fictional crime series I used to watch was “Homicide.” It was pretty good. But I didn’t love it enough to list it. And I love re-runs of the old Dragnet, too.

God bless us all,

Ruthie

Really? To each his own I guess (except we’re girls:D ) I enjoyed it but I must admit the last season, after James Caan left, it wasn’t as good.

…what are your fave tv shows (NOT NEWS SHOWS) that are current shows, not black and white reruns, lol.
Hot Porn , 26 hours a day 😃
Why else they invented the internet for ??
Or:
What else is there to do on the internet ??

I’m glad you’re both joking. I read that at first, and thought… 😃

this is a sad statement to make, but the truth is i don’t have any favorite tv shows!!

i grew up in the 50’s and 60’s when we only had 3 networks and the lineup every night on each network was so good.

i find all of the television shows now, whether comedy or drama so predictable and boring. the crime dramas are almost all the same. i just don’t see anything entertaining about anything hollywood has to offer.

i will try to watch nancy grace if there is an interesting case in the headlines. i used to like g r e t a van susteren, but she is amost all politics these days. national geographic, discovery and history channels might have something worthwhile to watch.
i do enjoy father groeschel on sunday afternoons and father corapi.

i think the reality shows have to be the most annoying shows developed for television. they are so scripted and edited. it amazes me what they come up with.

anyhow, television is not the form of entertainment it was back in the 50’s and 60’s.

No No , I’m bloody serious 😊 😃

Of Course , if you would/(have) watch(ed) 1 second ,
you have seen them all !! ALL fake !!

I’m not wasting my tv time & bandwidth to such beep !!

The other mentioned shows , I truly love them 🙂
