The NY Times is reporting that FBI investigators found that the rope hanging in NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace’s garage was not a hate crime as it has been there since at least 2019 which is well before his being assigned that garage. Oops.

Watson apparently has dug in and said it was a noose, and called into question photoshop??

Dude, sometimes a old garage rope is just an old garage rope. People need to learn to not jump the gun and take a breath first. They’ll be plenty of time for NASCAR solidarity videos later. It makes people look foolish when they trip over themselves being the first to appear righteous.

Oh yeah, well tell that to Jussie Smollett who was viciously attacked by two racist…oh…uh…hmm.”

Have you seen the garage door rope? I have one in my garage. It does not look anything like a noose. It has a handle that you grab onto. I can see fashioning a garage door pull rope with a loop in it if a plastic handle is not available. In that case one would tie a bowline loop to make a convenient grabbing point. The question I have is whether this particular pull rope had a slip knot that tightens when you pull it. Such a knot would never be used by anyone who knows ropes and knots, unless that person specifically wanted to send a threatening message along with the utility of providing a means of opening and closing a garage door. On the other hand, if the knot really didn’t have any slip-tighten characteristics and was more like a bowline, this was indeed a case of jumping to conclusions. I would love to see a close-up picture of the knot. If it was just an innocent loop, I am surprised that so many people looked at it an thought it was a noose.

They had to send 15 FBI agents to investigate an obvious hoax. Clearly every Chinese spy and Antifa terrorist must have been arrested, to be able to send out so much manpower.

Well I bet somewhere in your house is a box that connects to a system of similarly connected boxes in,order places around the world. I forget what it’s called but with your box is a board with letters and numbers on it that allows you to communicate with the other connected boxes. I think you can type in words that would bring the news to you. Give it a go and see what happens.

A grown man wept over a garage door pull cord and needed 15 FBI agents making 100 grand+ a year of taxpayer money to explain it to him. What a world we live in lol
lol???

Well, a grown man wouldn’t be crying if a noose was never used to lynch an innocent man because of his black race!!! And there wouldn’t be the need for FBI agents if lynchings weren’t a reality for living folks today. (I know black elders who had family and/or family friends who were lynched for being black.)

It’s not like NASCAR has a proportionate number of black drivers. Besides, NASCAR just very recently banned the Confederate flag at its sponsored events. And trust me, that ugly, vile flag isn’t about states rights. It’s a symbol of unspoken racism sending a message to black people that they better know their place in this society and stay in it!
Dude, sometimes a old garage rope is just an old garage rope.
Yes, sometimes it is.
But if you’re a black man, an innocent old garage rope in the hands of evil is a loud and clear message that you’re not welcome and you better get back in your place. At its worse in the hands of evil, that old garage rope is the weapon used in your murder if your a black man.

Maybe it wasn’t so obvious to everyone, especially since a noose can easily be dismissed with the waive of a hand, just as it has been done on this thread.
I guess it all depends on what part of the noose your people have been on.

I can see why any object looking like a noose, burning cross, whip, etc in a public venue would be a source of serious concern to many individuals.

Strange Fruit
Southern trees bear a strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

F.B.I. Says Noose Was in NASCAR Garage Last Year

There you go.

This post sums up why we have a society where we can
have a grown man cry over a pull cord and need to call the FBI. While poor bubba cried during a staged photo op for NASCAR’s image, more black kids were shot in Chicago. Those were REAL lives shot down. The names of which we’ll never know, because the media has an agenda.

Whatever racist feelings you hold deep down, don’t project on others. Most sane people living in 2020 don’t obsess over the color of someone’s skin. Some may, most don’t. I don’t care about flags or statues and who is offended by them. And something tells me neither did you until you had to have it “explained” to you through social media.

There is nothing I care less about than the color of your skin. What I do care about is how you treat me. Leave me alone and I’ll do the same for you. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen anymore the new Gestapo must make you say and think according to the approved agenda. Anyone not towing the party line will be re-educated

The way I see it, people fall into two camps. Those who believe in equal opportunity (me), and those who believe in equal outcome. The two are not compatible with each other.

I am just glad that this did not turn out to have been done by Bubba.

I’m really proud and surprised by the reactions of NASCAR recently, I am. Compare the NFL sachems.

Please identify what group or individual proposes equal outcomes.

As you do this remember that ALL majority Americans, whether or not they had even met a minority member, gained from discrimination against minorities in the US. A Catholic priest explained this to me 40 years ago.

Jussie Wallace or Bubba Smollett? Take your pick.

It would appear that Mr Wallace has come to his senses today.

Any group or individual hiring based on predetermined outcomes such as race. I’m not going to list examples that you can see yourself everyday. The world is obsessed with race right now in case you haven’t noticed. It was even mentioned in this thread, Nascar not having a proprtionate amount of black drivers. So a racing league shouldn’t have the best drivers regardless of someone’s skin color but should have certain skin tones regardless of driving skill just so some people can feel warm and fuzzy inside? Insanity.
