With Benedict XVI, for the first time in history, the Orthodox have agreed to discuss the primacy of the bishop of Rome, according to the model of the first millennium, when the Church was undivided. Never before seen: the outline of the dialogue. - Sandro Magister @ www.chiesa

When are the discussions occuring exactly? Is there a way to follow them? This is very exciting news.

👍:D:extrahappy:

May God bless with Holy Wisdom all those participating in these dialogues! Let’s all pray that unity is found between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches, that the schism will be ended and the Oneness of Christ will fill the world with holy light.

The Vatican does not want us to know, nor do they want us to follow the discussion. They don’t want anything being said until the agreements are reached. I noticed that at the end of the article. They are not happy that this news was leaked. In a previous statement out of the Vatican, back in October, I believe, they had said that they would not share with the laity what is being discussed between the commission and the Orthodox.

My suggestion is to pray for Christian unity and back off on the curiosity. Let them deal with it behind closed doors as they want to do.

Sometimes, we’re so nosy. 😃 OK, I’m curious too. But if they want to surprise us, let’s wait for the surprise.

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂
