My cats don’t need holy water, they need a friggin’ exorcism!

100% pure evil indeed.

My problem is I am a dog person and my wife is a cat person. Guess which kind of pets we have??? 😦

We had hamsters once though, and the cat we had at the time loved to sit in front of the cage and be entertained. We called the cage the “cat’s television set”. Of course it was really just trying to figure out a way to open the cage and eat the hamsters.

People, please, stop with the catty responses, doggone it. When you horse around like this it makes others sheepish. It’s not nice to get someone’s goat and then chicken out. That’s fowl play. Let’s stop this mare’s nest and duck out of the topic.

FWIW, MY little kitty Jessie used to steal my rosary beads --but only because she wanted me to pick her up while I was praying!

And let us not forget, who puts the CAT in “Cat-holic?”

Who puts the DOG in 'Dog-ma?"

Coincidence? I wonder. . .

No this is absolutely not okay! The only way to fix this is to immediately skin your cat, cook it for 20 minutes on 375 degrees, and eat it all in one sitting. Only then will you be forgiven for this atrocious sin you have committed.

Cats, unlike humans, are never UNholy - that is, they are incapable of offending God by sin. Much as they ARE capable of offending their owners in various ways. So it would achieve no purpose to give them holy water.

And there’s a scripture verse - ‘do not give what is holy to the dogs’. (Matthew 7:6) . Holy water is, as the name implies, a holy thing. And it seems mighty disrespectful to give something that is holy to an animal.
Cats are never unholy? Isn’t evil unholy? 😉
The mouth end. 😃

Sorry, just couldn’t resist.
Try putting water in the other end and you’ll see pure evil. Been there, done that more than a few times in my career as a veterinarian. 😃

Look…if you take a sola scriptura -scripture alone approach (something I would never recommend you try at home!..or anywhere)…

one finds there that we are not to give what is holy to the dogs…

but it does not say anything about cats…

so…its fine

hehe

(Theological note: actually…I have used Lourdes water on one of my cats…but yes …of course feeding a cat holy water is not really what holy water is for…not something i would recommend.,…though I can see blessing a cat with it asking God to protect and keep em healthy…they are not going to “be more holy”…cats are well…cats…as much as this bookcat loves em)

don’t waste holy water on cats. they will never go to heaven

they only go to purr-gatory

When holy water gets near my cat, it sizzles!
:rotfl: Post #2. That didn’t take long. 🙂

(This thread sounds like it should wind up in the Water (no pun intended :p) Cooler…)

Anyway, personally, I wouldn’t.

One of the bits on some list of advice from small children was:

Never baptize a cat.
