In four years despite opposition from many in the government she has just completed a contemplative monastery in communist China, a place of great importance to the local Catholics. She recalls the terrible persecution there of her family in the past. Her religious vocation grew out of that experience. “I wanted to conquer the hatred and persecution with forgiveness and love.”
