So, I’ve begun trying to say a rosary every day. Sometimes it’s in the evening, sometimes it’s during lunch break, etc… What I’ve noticed is that during the Our Father, and focusing on (most of) the mysteries, I feel a deep kind of feeling–I don’t know really how to explain it.

The issue is when I’m saying the Ave’s or the Hail Holy Queen. I don’t feel as connected during those times, and it lets doubt slip in about the effect that these prayers have. I try to ignore it, but it’s like: “Our Father Who art in Heaven…” = warm and fuzzy, “Hail Mary, full of grace…”=nothing.

I figure maybe it’s the enemy trying to make me doubt the Blessed Virgin’s intercession, but what can I do to feel a deeper connection to Marian prayers or prayers for saintly intercession?

Perseverance.
‘You must know that the old enemy tries by all means in his power to hinder your desire for
good and to turn you from every devotional practice, especially from the veneration of the saints,
from devout meditation on My passion, and from your firm purpose of advancing in virtue. He
suggests many evil thoughts that he may cause you weariness and horror, and thus draw you away
from prayer and holy reading.’ - The Imitation of Christ

Might considering trying to do the Five First Saturdays devotion. There is a synopsis of what it entails here: The Five First Saturdays Devotion
This coming Saturday will mark my fifth consecutive month. I feel very close to our Blessed Mother during the fifteen minutes of meditation which she asks for. I haven’t missed doing a daily Rosary in the last five months. I believe the First Saturdays Devotion is playing a role in my perseverance.
