I just got done praying the Rosary. I prayed the Annunciation for your intentions. I was moved to advise you to always respond with a Yes to God as Our Lady did in response to Saint Gabriel’s words. Remember: Our Lady was a fourteen year old girl at the time and faced some very hard consequences for her Yes to God. But, her Yes paved the way for our salvation.

I hope this helps, brother.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread, but went to Daily Mass at lunch today. Just felt like home. Receiving a blessing from the Father during the Eucharist.

I attended a Catholic high school and haven’t been to Mass but just a few times for weddings/funerals since and once to check out the new cathedral in our town. I missed the reverence shown to God our Savior.

Discussing a position that is simply part of you, even if recently cemented, with a loved one who is diametrically opposed is way up there on our personal Richter scales. In my experience, always holding hands during serious talks brings an underlying physical grounding and strengthens the relationship connection while both lessening the inclination to turn away and tempering the inclination to raise voices or use hurtful words. They still occur, but, hopefully, on a lesser scale.

Lol! Lest your spouse predicts a hassling conversation every time your palms touch, that does mean that you need to hold hands now and then for no reason at all, if only for as long as to clasp and release at odd points along the days and nights throughout each week in order to impart, “I love you,” with or without the words. Opportunities abound when you look for them. ‘Remember how it was when you were dating?

I’m keeping your families in my prayers. Best wishes to all of you.

Have you listened to Scott Hahn’s conversion story? If not, its out there on you tube and possibly on the FORMED website, I’d recommend listening to it. He was in the exact situation, a powerful and moving story, might help you, he lays out some of the obstacles he had to overcome pertaining to his wife.
