Hello all,

I know for instance, that with regard to movies, one must ensure one does not fall into the sin of veangence, i.e.: delight over brutality inflicted on the ‘bad guy’.

However, would the same principle be applicable, say, in less overt circumstances? I mean, when studying history, one reads stuff about military aims and campaign etc. A spirit of aggression, rather mild and not overt, and perhaps, a spirit of domination, is somewhat present within me, when I do. Would this be an occassion of sin - if a sin - to avoid? Or is this getting a bit scrupulous? I am somewhat prone to sentiments of zeal; perhaps this is a manifestation of it.

Not sure what you’re asking…

Something along the lines, “Is it OK to be pleased when Good triumphs over Evil?”. Some degree of that?

In my opinion, if your spirit of aggression/domination would be put into effect and if your action would hurt one of your brothers or sisters in Christ, then I would say that would be an occasion of sin.

No, it is not a sin. There is nothing wrong with competition. When you want a soul to be lost there is a problem.
