Memaw, we are cohabiting in a state of grace and chastity. Thats what makes it okay.

It could be permissible if it did not bring scandal. Not knowing what each priest said to you, there may be a difference in view here on whether scandal is present. But certainly as a norm, it is not OK, and it does increase the likelihood of one giving in to one’s passions.

Personally, when I hear of two people cohabiting I assume, quite reasonably, that relations are occurring.

I also assume the same thing.

This is a battlefield in my mind. I am mentally weary and feel as if im losing my mind trying to figure what to do. Are you guys genuinely seeing that this is a bad relationship, over all or are you all just chastising a man with mental issues?
It’s very, very hard to see the situation objectively when your’re in it. For all of its disadvantages, the internet has a way of allowing strangers with no emotional connection to take a 10,000 foot view of your situation that you simply cannot and offer advice that is often much more rational. It isn’t that we’re smarter or more holy; we would have the same problem if we were in your shoes, which many of us are at some point or another.

I agree with what has been posted by everyone else. It’s a bad relationship, you’re right to not marry him, and you need to get out of it completely.

That’s a great insight about the advantage of the internet.

👍

And, yes, we can get advice on difficult situations because some of the strangers in CAF have been in similar situations themselves, and can look back at what they learned from it. Not smarter or holier - but burned!

The sooner you remove yourself from living with him, the sooner you will be able to think more objectively, and feel more comfortable making the right decisions. I will pray for your dear sister.
