I am being was being sarcastic, as you didn’t
what does this mean?
and JSmitty, i started reading each of your links and, from what i can tell, they are ther same points that are being made here.

I noticed that at least one (I think both) of the Gateway computers I have bought during the past year or so included a “Davinci Code” theme/screensaver. I delete it when new or when I perform a system recover from OEM OS CDs. However, I was wondering if we should return a computer if the Da Vinci code is on it. Perhaps this is too strong an action? However, it seems that the Da Vinci Code maligns and disrespects our faith and is anti-Catholic. Any thoughts appreciated. We are using the computers but I try to ensure no Da Vinci Code materials are on them.

Movies like Stigmata, Da Vinci will never come close to shaking ones faith when those who run the Church and cause real scandal are doing a bang up job.

It’s easier to lay the majority of the blame on something like a book that does not put any guilt on the church in any way.

It is a book.

The history of the Catholic Church isn’t all that rosey. There WAS a time when non-compliance with the “rules” resulted in torture and death to the transgressor. Do the “Crusades” bring back any thoughts?? Sacking and pillaging communities/regions just because they believed in God a different way? Comply or Die. Why did our previous Pope have to recently APOLOGIZE to the world for the Church’s past acts??

The Church also had ultimate power over governments, Kings, Queens, Whoever…and the Church is still today one of the wealthiest and largest real estate holding organizations in the world.

2000 years has had a part in suppressing these little facts. Remember, history is written by the winners of the war, not the losers, and the Golden Rule is “Whoever’s got the Gold makes the Rules”.

Getting your knickers in a twist about a book or movie is senseless. Just by doing this you’re questioning your own faith, and perpetuating the Hollywood Dollar Dogs. Take it for what it is… another’s take on what MIGHT have happened, and a good mystery to boot. And getting worked up that today’s media power has so much “immediate” influence on society is pointless… goodness will always prevail. Let’s just see who’s reading/watching what in another 2000 years.

Personally I enjoyed the book. It was a good thriller. It made (makes) me want to visit Europe and see/experience the places described… not biased by this text, but now intrigued to witness them and make my own assessments…

Many computers come with the Da Vinci theme and screen saver pre installed. The theme can’t be deleted using the Delete button.

Perhaps in some way, the Windows Da Vinci Theme may actually downplay the Da Vinci Code because the Windows theme seems to focus on Leonardo Da Vinci’s inventions. Although, I’m not sure what the image of the woman refers to - is that one of Da Vinci’s paintings or is it a reference to the audacious implication that the Da Vinci Code promotes?
