I have to respectfully disagree with you. I have read through this entire thread. The comment was rude and no doubt against forum rules of conduct. He/she has an opinion just like everyone else, if you disagree with it fine, then say so and leave it at that.
Now that I’m back in here again…might as well throw my two cents in. I’ve read Dan Browns Demons and Angels and enjoyed it and I plan on reading Da Vinci Code before the movie comes out. I love
fiction adventure mixed with romance but I do not take it seriously nor should anyone else. This is incredibly ridiculous to be making such a big fuss over this book and now the movie.
My daughter and I were driving home from her school one day (she’s 16) and listening to Catholic radio. They had a program on devoted to this topic, my daughter looked over at me and said “ya know mom, they are making such a big deal out of this now that all my friends want to go see it, they weren’t even interested before!! now they are making into a big party, Lets all go together!!”
I think if we were allowed to use the word “shut up” it would surely be directed else where
It’s a work of fiction, end of story. And it’s silly to think anyone is going to leave the church over it.
This all seems like a case of playing the victim. There’s no enemy, lighten up…go see the movie and have a good study about it in your parish afterwards. Maybe invite a scholarly Jesuit priest to come in and lead it so you can get all the facts straight about our faith incase the movie really does confuse you. I’m being serious here, I believe I heard something about parishes doing this on Catholic radio.
