The President and members of the legislature in the Philippines aim at legalizing same sex marriage, and by the force of the law strongly promoting abortion, mass sterilization, and contraception. The Catholics, who have been vigorously opposing the passing of these legal proposals, as 2011 was drawing to a close came together for a caravan, the National Marian Pilgrimage for Life, which crossed the whole country, led by a 7 foot statue of Mary. After receiving enthusiastic welcomes from crowds throughout the Philippines it ended in a huge prayer rally in the center of Manila, when news came that legislative attempts for such measures have been indefinitely posponed.
