I know a lot of artists; aspiring authors, people into painting, music and the like. Most have to intention of putting an intention message in their work. If they do, it’s obvious; if you’re trying to say something specific, while you can use metaphor, if you’re too esoteric the message is lost.I am simply asking questions to further the conversation.
Do you think ideas can affect persons, or change them? Do the authors of such things, have any agendas, or ideas, or ideologies, or religion, they they desire to teach through their medium (in this instance ‘games’)?
For instance, in Super Mario Galaxy, it is taught that we are all just ‘star dust’. Do you think that such an big-bangish theology got in there by accident?
Are creators inspired by their worldview (politics, religion, etc.)? Yes. But that inspiration doesn’t inherently mean they have any desire to proselytize.
