I am simply asking questions to further the conversation.

Do you think ideas can affect persons, or change them? Do the authors of such things, have any agendas, or ideas, or ideologies, or religion, they they desire to teach through their medium (in this instance ‘games’)?

For instance, in Super Mario Galaxy, it is taught that we are all just ‘star dust’. Do you think that such an big-bangish theology got in there by accident?
I know a lot of artists; aspiring authors, people into painting, music and the like. Most have to intention of putting an intention message in their work. If they do, it’s obvious; if you’re trying to say something specific, while you can use metaphor, if you’re too esoteric the message is lost.

Are creators inspired by their worldview (politics, religion, etc.)? Yes. But that inspiration doesn’t inherently mean they have any desire to proselytize.

And you know they are going to completely overhaul the combat system… which in my mind is going to suck. It’s like they think people can’t tolerate the old combat systems which in my opinion really helped pace the games. I’m definitely going to play it but I don’t have my hopes up.

All people are proselytizing in one way or another.
This isn’t true.

As an aspiring author, I’m not trying to promote anything with my work. I’m just trying to tell a story in the fantasy world I spent years creating.

Well I tried to paint the Zone Eater and just spent the last hour trying to figure out why my inventory is filled with no dirks.

Wait… wrong game.

Edit: This remains the only game breaking bug I’ve discovered on my own.

I think I’ve only found one myself. In Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, it’s possible that a cutscene fails to trigger. The problem is that the cutscene is used to break away part of a wall, so if it doesn’t trigger, it’s impossible to progress. I spent way too long trying to figure out where to go before looking up what I was supposed to do and realizing it was a bug.

Oh, I did also hit a point in Resident Evil 4 where I needed to defeat a couple enemies but had gotten such bad luck with ammo drops that I ran out, rendering the section impossible. Well, I might have been able to get by with a knife, but I wasn’t about to put in the effort to be the best knife user in RE4 history.
