Pleased to note that Archbisop Flynn of the Minneapolis Diocese is being replaced by Bishop Neinstedt, a conservative hard liner.

I hope the new Bishop restores Father Altier to his normal preaching duties. Some very bad things have been going on in that Diocese under Bishop Harry Flynn’s tenure. The exile of Father Altier was only one example. I would watch the future goings-on in that Diocese.

Pray for Bishop Neinstedt.

There is a current thread on this in the Catholic News section. Archbishop Flynn is not retiring (yet) so Bishop Nienstedt is a Coadjutor Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and would replace Archbishop Flynn when he retires.

Fr. Altier has a lot of good ideas and is very well intentioned. But he does has some very quesitonable ideas as well. However, I don’t know that silencing him was right either.

I would agree with this assessment of Fr. Altier. I also have some concerns for the cult of personality that seems to be around him: there are people who seem to think he’s Pope. I met one gal who seemed to think that if you’re not 100% behind Fr. Altier and the discredited Little Mary, then you’re on Satan’s side.

I find myself In St. Paul, MN on business…
How has the St Paul Diocese faired since Fr Altier was put away in 2006???
Early morning Mass at St Agnes cancelled.
Priestly vocations from St Agnes have gone from an average of 2 + per year to less than one per year.(I’ve counted 8 to 11 seminarians for each of the last 10 years) (I will double check after morning Mass at Cathedral tomorrow am, my recollection is that presently there is one 1st year then nothing until 4th year)

Fr. Altier and St Agnes should be the model for Priests, Parrishes and Diocese.

Evil has its day when good men remain silent.

I encourage any knowledgable of Fr Altier and the Parish of St Anges to write the Diocese of St Paul MN to reinstate Fr Altier to Parrish life and please put this situation on your rosary.

God’s Blessings.
