Our servers currently wear albs. And there are a bunch of them in fair to good condition for the kids. They were gross and dirty, so a couple of us women took them home to wash. They look better. I suggested that the mothers of the servers who are children could wash them occasionally if their child is wearing them, but that doesn’t seem to be happening. sigh
The adults have a VERY limited number of albs and they are in poor to fair condition. And if a server isn’t a size 10 or 12, they are too small.
Our priest would like to see the cassocks and surpluses worn by all servers. He’s the spiritual adviser for a young man in the seminary and that young man came and served a couple of times and he look so nice in the cassock and surplice that he wore, I see why people like them and how they look.

I will pass on that butterick pattern number! Thanks much. 🙂

Toninu Church Supply, another large family-owned supplier with whom I have dealt for over 15 years, sells altar server cassocks for $48-55 range.

As has been suggested a couple of times on this thread, www.auto.com is the cheapest acceptable cassock and surplice site. Should be able to pick up a set for about $80.00.

If money is scarce then you can get albs (those white bathrobe thingys) for about $45.00 also from Autom.
I believe that you mean www.autom.com.

Surplices can be made easily yourself, costs almost nothing. Just some white fabric.

I made my own surplice (the lace is a matter of taste and budget, makes it a little more expensive).

GH4- if you have any falling-apart old ones, you might have a sewing lady take it apart to create a pattern :).

OP: Good luck…
