Oh brother. You haven’t read the Bible much? You know, about the wedding feasts and such? A wife is a gift from God. You’ll have to show me a Papal encyclical that does include the words “if you think you’re gonna be happy if you get married, forget it” or something to that effect.
I never said you shouldn’t be happy, or even that you shouldn’t strive for happiness, but it isn’t the purpose of marriage from a catholic (or my) point of view.
