Thanks for the blog suggestion, too.
The movie rights are someoneās property. We donāt own the movie so we canāt do that. I donāt know who put it on youtube and Iām not sure that really matters to me either. If itās open source we could record it and subtitle it.

Donāt think so, unless theyāre using it in as a reference. I hope that this is going to be a great improvement.Got this from a friend of mine (new SFO Formation schedule). Looks really good.
Are they still using Lester Bachās book?
Loathed itDonāt think so, unless theyāre using it in as a reference. Did you really like that book?
I donāt like the ābird-bath St. Francisā approach. LOL.Loathed it
Particularly the 1st edition, which was so PCā¦
Exactly! Agree 100%I donāt like the ābird-bath St. Francisā approach. LOL.
I know he lived a long time ago and some things are legend. Thatās fine with me. But itās important, I think, to really read what there was and understand it through the right lens, not the lens of the mid-20th century.
The new formation book, you mean? No, I donāt think so. Itās in a binder and if your formation director went to the formation meetings at regional where it was introduced and given out, that person should have it. You will probably see it emerge in fraternity meetings, I expect. Thereās talk of using it not only as initial formation, but as ongoing formation for fraternities. Did you see the last issue of the Tau?Loathed it

I am glad they have changed it. I may even get it, if it is in book form. Is it?

Thanks so very much! Here you go: nafra-sfo.org/tau-usa/articles/summer11/Issue_Num_71_sum_11.pdf
I donāt think thatās a complete copy but most of it is there, I think. Itās at the NAFRA website.
A lot of the articles in this issue are about this new formation manual.
You are welcome.Wow. FUN looks amazing![]()
When I was Formation Director, I made up a manual that was a pale version of this one. Finding the articles was fun. Unfortunately, the chapters were from Catch Me a Rainbow II. We already know how I feel about thatYou are welcome.
I hope itās a good formation manual. I havenāt seen it up close.
I used to be a teacher. I hope itās got some āmeatā in it, meaning articles to read and references to things for study. And I hope that itās not just pages of open-ended questions for discussion which donāt really do much. My teacher instincts are working.![]()
Yes, well, I have every reason to believe that this one is better. I think the foundational material came from CIOFS, and the particulars from NAFRA. It ought to be pretty good. Iām looking forward to seeing it.When I was Formation Director, I made up a manual that was a pale version of this one. Finding the articles was fun. He is one (unless I am mistaken). His posts are always fantastic.Yes, well, I have every reason to believe that this one is better. I think the foundational material came from CIOFS, and the particulars from NAFRA. It ought to be pretty good. Iām looking forward to seeing it.
Iāll bet finding the articles was fun. Although good articles are NOT easy to find!
I have learned so much from Br. JR. Even though heās a friar and weāre in a different part of the Franciscan family, heās been very helpful. He knows a lot about SFOs.
Yes his posts are fantastic. He is one (unless I am mistaken). His posts are always fantastic.![]()
I thought he was an SFO who became a friar. I may be mistakenā¦Yes his posts are fantastic.
Iām pretty sure heās a friar. The group heās with uses the OFM rule I think, but I could be wrong about that. Heās said in one of his posts someplace. We should ask when he comes in here.
Oh, maybe. Not sure.I thought he was an SFO who became a friar. I may be mistakenā¦
