welcome Home, and welcome to the beauty and reality of the Catholic Faith! 🙂 i am so glad beyond words to hear that you’ve had such an incredible experience with encountering God during Adoration, and that it has led you to fully believe in the Truth. your story is amazing, and i’ve actually had very similar experiences during Adoration that have touched my heart and life forever.

i was raised Catholic, but had a born-again experience on november 22, 2007, when i gave my heart to Jesus and felt His Presence, power and love overwhelm me so completely that i will never be able to forget it. for a year after that, i considered myself a nondenominational evangelical Christian—then, on december 1, 2008, i converted back to Catholicism, and ever since then, my relationship with God has deepened and matured considerably. i just wanted to share this with you because i can definitely relate to the idea of being discouraged throughout one’s walk in the Catholic Faith—actually, last night i was experiencing very serious doubts about Catholicism, and it was only when i spent some time in worship that i was healed of those doubts and the depression they had caused. what kept me holding on to the Catholic Faith throughout that difficult experience, which i believe was Satan trying to discourage me, was my unshakeable belief in the Real Presence of Jesus and all the ways He has been real, beautiful and loving to me during Adoration. i know exactly what you mean, though, about sometimes wondering if it is God or Satan who is leading you to the Church, and i am so glad that you have realized that it is God Who is leading you to what is the full Truth, and not Satan deceiving you. i am just so happy and excited for you, and will definitely keep you in my prayers.

i know exactly what you mean when you talk about the Presence of God being so real and powerful in Adoration. whenever i go to Adoration, i am just brought to my knees by the strong sense of Love and power that i feel so close all around me. i absolutely love Adoration, because it’s where i am able to experience, feel and hear God so clearly and beautifully and strongly, and i feel so close to Him, and His Love just envelops me so completely, and heals me of all my doubts. sometimes i have felt God’s Presence during my own times of private worship, but never like His Presence surrounds me during Adoration. i also know exactly what you mean when you talk about being paralyzed. all i am able to say during Adoration most of the time is: “I love You, Jesus.” i keep repeating this over and over because i can’t say anything else—i’m just so filled to overflowing with His Love and His amazing Presence.

that’s so beautiful, that you could feel His arms around you. ❤️ so many times i have felt the same thing, and it has reduced me to tears. i’m so glad that you now appreciate why Mary is so important, and will definitely pray that you grow closer to Her, and, of course, to Jesus. i definitely suggest that you pray the Rosary and develop a true devotion to Her, which will definitely bring you closer to Her. i’ve found that since i’ve started praying the Rosary daily, i’ve felt a stronger love for Her that was difficult for me to find before. here are some resources on Mary that i hope and pray will help you.

i’m so glad beyond words to hear that your issues have been resolved, and that you have experienced the beauty and love of Jesus’ Presence in Adoration. definitely tell others what you have experienced—pray that they may come to experience it as well. please know that the Presence has also been incredibly real to me, and that He will definitely always be there for you, not only in Adoration, but in Love within your heart.

just to share some of my own experiences with Adoration, on may 18, 2008, i attended a praise and worship night that included an hour and a half of Adoration, and during that time, while i was sitting in silence with Jesus, i felt this overwhelming sense of Love and then i heard Him tell me, very clearly, that He loved me. it literally brought me to tears. then, on august 21, 2008, i attended a very similar praise and worship night, and a woman there actually saw Jesus walking around the church, touching everyone on the shoulder and looking at each person with so much Love that it warmed her heart. ❤️ i will never forget either of those nights—it may not seem like much to some people who have experienced more, but they have meant everything to me.

mommommats, i’m so glad that you have had this experience. ❤️ please know that i will be keeping you in my constant thoughts and prayers, and i encourage you to return to Adoration. i will be praying for you and wish you luck as you come Home to the Catholic Faith. stay strong, stay safe and take care of yourself. God bless you! 🙂 ❤️

love,
in the peace and love of Christ,
alison ❤️
I’m not as certain about seeing or hearing Jesus, but I do know he speaks to our hearts in ways that only we can hear.
I read my journal a couple years ago-- things that I had written as a young postulant 40 years before. I left the convent after a pretty short time. I was consumed with regret and sadness over that young girl who had tried so hard and couldn’t make it.
I felt God say, “But you’re still you, and I still love you.”
I have to keep that in mind when the going gets rough. It did seem like God spoke directly to me, and that is why I remember it so vividly.

Our church has a side chapel, and I don’t like it. Even though we have a large Narthex for socializing, people still have to be reminded not to talk loudly in church before mass.
I heard that some churches are moving the Tabernacle back into the main church where it belongs, and newer churches are being built without a “side” chapel.
We are finally getting back to the essentials from before Vatican II, in some respects.
One of my friends says that Vatican II tried to be ecumenical, and instead made our churches more protestant. Threw out the baby with the bathwater, so to speak.

My parish priest told a very important story about side chapels. In the bible the Lord called Samuel because Samuel was in the temple with him. You know the story where the boy samuel was called 3 times before on the second time he was told it was the Lord and to say, speak Lord your servat is listening.
When our Lord is in the church he can call young men to the priesthood. Take him out and you get no vocations.

I don’t know if I would be able to worship Jesus at adoration if I didn’t feel His presence there. I am so afraid of offfending Him through idolatry, I think the only way I could be sure that He was there (the host was truly consecrated) is if I felt Him. I am humbled by people who can meet with Him and worship Him there by faith alone.

It pains me so much to think of how deluded non-Catholic Christians are regarding the Presence and other Catholic beliefs. I was so brainwashed against Catholicism that I didn’t think they really worshipped Jesus at all, they just kept Him dead on the cross. I was so surprised to find that He is worshipped and thought of in ways that most protestants do, only their ways have Huge and very important pieces missing.

While I can look at most protestant sects now and admire that they have been able to stick to the truth (for the most part) for so long and just cling to Jesus by faith. It is just such a sad sad work of the devil that the True Presence is stripped away from them.

But, God has His ways…

I am going to Adoration again today after I meet with the Msr. He is a very intuitive (?) man who read my soul like a book the last time I met with him… this makes me nervous all the more!

Please pray for me!
This is SOOO far from Idolatry! This is REAL. That’s the difference.
Idolators worship “the almighty dollar” or “celebreties” for example.
You are on the right path.
He is pulling you toward him in a way that false idols try, and sometimes they succeed, but, Trust Him. He won’t lead you astray.
I will keep you in my prayers. Remember, even Jesus was tempted in the desert!

That is a good point! I think we had that reading about Samuel a couple weeks ago…

Umm, actually I think you’ll find that the two-knees requirement was removed in the 70’s. Now, before anyone jumps on me, I’m not saying a person shouldn’t go down on two knees, I’m just saying it’s no longer a requirement.
If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. It’s the very same Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle as when exposed. We only genuflect on one knee in front of the Tabernacle. If we kneel on two knees in front of the Monstrance, we are implying that the Host exposed is more important or holy than the Host hidden. Which isn’t the case.
Ah, yes, the 1970’s when everything was diluted, including the number of practicing Catholics. (Is there an emoticon for tongue in cheek?)

This is probably a better reason “A” for my “A thru Z” list of the downside of removing the Blessed Sacrament from the main tabernacle. I agree that the cause of this is a misguided reach for Ecumenicalism. Why should I want to encourage their sense that this is idolatry and move their way when it really is not idolatry? By removing it you encourage greater ambiguity as to why the Blessed Sacrament is there and why we believe what we do.

I am Catholic and not interested in tip toeing around it…or making accomodations for visitors who are not Catholic. I want the Blessed Sacrament there to hopefully bring them into a realisatoin that their “Protestants” and “List of Grievences” do not provide them the True Presence Jesus said he would leave with us.

I have experienced this as well. In particular, I have been to parishes that have, for one reason or another, decided to take the blessed sacrament from their main alter and put it in a side alter even on sunday for the Mass.

I can always tell it has been removed because I do not “sense” that it is there any longer.
What he said.

God bless,
Dan

The church I attend has the tabernacle on the side with chairs in front of it that are always full with elderly people. I sit in the main area as close as I can to the tabernacle.
Last Sunday I felt His presence so powerfully I prayed to God to impart some of this grace onto the fidgety young man sitting in front of me and almost immediatly I felt some of the “feeling” of His presence fade and the young man looked over at the tabernacle and sat still for the rest of Mass! Am I crazy?!
Then I almost cried when I couldn’t take part in the Eucharist… if I feel His presence so powerfully externally I wonder what it will be like when I finally get to consume it! Come on Easter!

Thx very much for sharing that. It’s wonderful to see your eager anticipation for your big day. If you are this excited now with what you were given how much more excited will you be in the world to come where your joy will be such that it cannot be explained. God bless you:)

The world seems so dark with sin that when I find time to spend in an adoration chapel it seems like I am sitting in a beautiful oasis. It is a wonderful part of the faith and Jesus really is there for your soul and for your friendship.
I feel the same way! 😃 there’s soo much peace there… I find that I’m never able to worry about anything at Adoration, even if things in my life are going badly.
👍 🙂 His presence remains in the unleavened bread or host until it is gone or completely broken down. It’s not idolatry at all. Very many people can feel his presence in the church. I make many visits and always sense a presence. The church is not empty when he’s there. I can feel it. I once had an experience that he was not in the tabernacle when I made a visit but the priest came and placed him there. As soon as he was in the tabernacle I felt a presence fill the church quickly. It was very noticable. Heaps of people have experiences like this and others. But you are seeing that for yourself. Visit him often. He doesn’t have many good friends, you be a good friend. God bless you and make yourself at home in the church. It’s family, sit back and relax
🙂 👍

yea… it’s sad, really. In my parish, the Tabernacle used to be in the chapel. But a few years ago they moved into into the church 🙂 not only that, but they got a much better Tabernacle too.

I think that it’s important for the Catholic Church to keep its Catholic identity, and I’m glad to see the trend going in that direction now.

:hug1: that’s beautiful and very true. Sometimes God reminds me of this too, when I think about my past.

that’s awesome! =)

God bless!!
