Today, I attended a Latin Mass for the first time. It was absolutely incredible, and so moving. I was afraid I would not be able to follow along or understand what was going on, but I really did, even at times when I didn’t have a missal to follow along with. One thing I really noticed is how similarly written the Novus Ordo and the Tridentine Mass are. I have seen some reverent Novus Ordo Masses before, but this Tridentine Mass just blew all of that out of the water. I absolutely LOVED kneeling to receive Communion. I was actually nervous, as though it was my first time receiving; I had never felt this way before. I loved seeing all the other women veiled, I loved that there were teenage girls there, dressed modernly but modestly, with their heads covered. It was a true testament to being “in and not of” the world.
That clinches it for me; I am a Traditional Catholic! I am hoping to convince the Pastor that he should offer the Tridentine Mass at our Parish.
