Is it bad form to bring a prayer rope to an Eastern Catholic vespers service?

No, very likely many people will have them handy. I usually would keep mine in my pocket but one could hold it.

However, it should be noted that the reason for Vespers is to sing the psalms and the supporting prayers with the rest of the community. After the Divine Liturgy, the liturgy of the Hours is the preeminent and official prayer of the church. I would concentrate on that while I was there.

Ok. Thank you.

Oh about St Michaels, any dress code? I’m assuming a skirt and head covering? Will a mantilla be okay?
As a follow-up to this, I finally found something. Just in case you want to come in something authentically Eastern…

Hmm. I’ll pass on wearing a scarf the way the older woman is wearing it:p.

I have worn a scarf like the woman who is third in line, but it made me hot.

For now, I think I will stick to my “mantilla” which is really an oversized bandanna. 😃
Exactly. a napkin little cloth is high fashion, not shawl, at Tridentine Mass too. Just something on head. I found the long Vespers boring after 45 minutes, so left, respectfully. I guess it is the Readings and chants that make it devout, like holy hour.
It’s an adjustment, a Very ancient part of The Church.

I dont know if this is the right place to answer but I just feel led to put this here

There is a certain exorcism that was transcribed on line. That the changes in Vatican II opened the doors to certain demons. They stated though that the Eastern Rite has kept the purity of the Divine liturgy and they cannot enter, the changes the RC church has made was to such a degree that the demons not only may enter the church but may stay until the consecration (provided that priest still does believe in the Eucharist being the body & blood of Jesus).

If you feel the purity of the Sacrifice you are in the right place.
