Yeah, that doesn’t look good at all.

I fear that could happen here eventually…

Vox’s latest tweet makes it sound that way. I hope she’ll change her mind…

I’m just hoping she responds soon so we have some clarity. It’s been hours since the Tweet…

Edit: It would be really disappointing if it did shut down. I’ve only been there since March, and I really like the other members.

I’d be sad to see it go. It’s been such a great resource for me.

Web archives allow us to view sites that are long dead.
If you see something you value, check that it is in the web archive.

@Cruciferi I expect Catholic Answers Forums to live a very long and happy life, a life that has just begun. Should anything happen, let us try to get it into the internet archive.

http://web.archive.org/web/20190427...estions.org/t/fisheaters-shutting-down/548620

When trying to save this into the archives, this is the error, “Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private.” Therefore when the site dies, all of our comments do not go down throughout time. This may be a good thing or a bad thing.

Looking to Google and the archive

I’m sorry to hear that.
I’ve never been a member, and looked around on it maybe once, but I just kinda liked that it was out there.

If anyone on here is a member there, please suggest that someone else take it over.

It would be good if someone else took it over. The current administrator there is a main reason I avoid the forums there. The online resources other than the forum are okay.

I’ll avoid reproducing some of her commentaries here, after all I could be accused of being innapropriate and so on, but I do stand by some of her views towards CAF, specially when she says that some here try to disencourage others of going there.
Thing is, she’s a Traditional Catholic, and we traditionals are familiarized with hostility, but maybe she had enough of the good and old internet haters.

If fisheaters go down, we will loose one of the best and most free places to debate the One True Faith and many other things.

CAF is a shell of what it once was.
Why?

I like Fish Eaters too, and appreciated a lot of their articles when I converted. I remember reading the review on Catholic Culture and that did make me a bit wary of the site. There were some things strongly critiquing the “Novus Ordo” Mass, changes to the liturgical year etc. and I was trying to avoid that sort of negativity. Otherwise I think it’s one of the best Catholic websites and it would be a shame if it went down.

Could all be bluster, of course, but it would indeed be a shame to lose the contents of the main site…

Sounds like she’s really tired & sad.
I didn’t think the person was exactly tiered&sad, perhaps more saturated&“having the courage to ponder changing projects”. I didn’t exactly think it a “rant” or “vent” but more of a public reflection (prompting in turn feedback and reactions) about the FE project by its founder who’s probably also the most involved&solicited member.

I think a person of that age is more than entitled to walk away from a project without holding any attachment or obligation towards it - having however the decency to publicly state her reasons, and the candor of elaborating on her personal views.
