I think you have a different internet or something. When Obama was president, the internet I saw had glowing articles about him; a far cry from now when you can’t go onto any source without seeing anti=trump stuff.

And possibly you’re running with the wrong crowd if your friends bombarded you with hateful stuff. I recommend making new friends.

I live in one of the most conservative places in the U.S. and while almost nobody voted for Obama or Clinton, you don’t hear nasty things said about them like we seen on CAF all the time about Trump.

Of course, you never heard support for Obama’s policies either. But that’s a very different thing from personal attacks.

Apparently there are different internets. The racist memes and comments I saw for 8 years about both Obamas were so vile, I wouldn’t repeat them here. Or anywhere. And these were from people who considered themselves fine upstanding conservatives. It was disgusting.

I truly don’t know what you’re talking about. You sure can’t be talking about the media sources like CNN or Yahoo. They loved the Obamas.
 
It sounds like your in-box was filled from people you know, not in reference to this forum. People get caught up on opinions, and it is as prevalent for those on the right as those on the left. That is too bad you had to put up with that. I obviously don’t know if you were a contributor to the same thing toward them (hopefully not) or this was just one sided. From what you say it was one-sided. In any case it seems put to rest. I had an individual in our office who would always do what I call drive-bys by making unsolicited politically inflaming comments walking by someone in the break room and then return to the security of his office without allowing rebuttal or comment.

I am not familiar with reading many of your posts, so I am not able to comment much. agreeing or disagreeing with your positions on issues. I never saw the Obamas as being heavily hated as you seem to imply. I saw just the opposite. They appeared to me to be revered, and I think we saw major moral setbacks, a yield to political correctness, as well as bad economic decisions during his administration. Indeed, I would say that Trump has not always been truthful, but then neither were the Obamas. I disagreed with the majority of the Obama polices. Trump wasn’t my first choice through the primaries, but since we basically only had two choices, in the end, the alternative was simply not a consideration for me. I think Trump’s election largely stems from the pendulum swinging so from left of center in the previous administration it allowed for a strong swing in the other direction to balance things. In regard to Trump going by the rules, unfortunately that protocol has been breached for many years through the Bushes and the Clintons as well as Obama. The Senate and House of Representative have continued to relinquish their role, regardless of the administration. I do not see the republican led congress being anymore an ally of Trump much more than the democrats. The RINOs seemed to do as much as the democrats if not more to keep him from getting elected. Most of the republicans in congress are not truly conservative and oftentimes there is only superficial differences in the big issues. Your last paragraph seems to express a strong disfavor of the Trumps in general, nothing addressing particular issues, so we will leave that as it is. We will wait for issue threads to discuss more.
 
Totally off topic, but my brother would wear orange on St Patrick’s Day to make fun of everyone in the States wearing green when they weren’t of Irish descent. And we come mostly from IRA country.

PoliticolAm didn’t specify where he saw the anti-Obama garbage. And the mainstream did report on it, so if you didn’t see any of it, count yourself lucky. I just know it was vile and disgusting, much worse than anything I’ve seen about Trump.

Here on CAF there was a thread about what the Obama girls wore to their first state dinner. Then there was the dustup about Obama wearing mom jeans, tan suit, and taking his jacket while in the Oval Office.

There are always criticisms about the First Family and their sartorial choices.

This is more vile than what PoliticolAM has been saying? What about Deniro’s comments or that heart throb Fonda stirring up publicity for his new movie. The comments here were more vile than these two useful idiots?
