Flawed Theology

Ok I was recently thinking for whatever reason about radical evangelical theology and a thought occurred to me: If evangelical protestants believe that if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior and that no matter what sin we commit, we cannot lose our salvation, how can they condemn Catholics to Hell? Now realize that I know their Sola Fide philosophy isn’t correct, but I was just curious as to how they can condemn us when we, as Catholics, have accepted Jesus as our Lord and savior (albeit in a different understanding).

They don’t have James 2:24 in their NASB or NIV? Of course they do, because I have both and it’s in there. Yet, it is flawed theology that conflates the works of the Mosaic law with Christian works of charity. Clearly, our faith is dead if we have no works of charity. And, why would Paul rate Charity as greater than either faith or hope? For, we are justified by faith (Romans 3:28) and saved by our hope (Roman 8:24), yet love is greater than either.

I think it has something to do with proclaiming Christ as everyone’s Savior, not just your’s personally. Kinda like, I got my Jesus now get your own!

Not all do this, just the hardcore types, very few thankfully, who think science and reason are synonyms for devil worship. Funny thing though is that they’re usually literalists, and when they state “you’re going to hell” contradicts their position and what Our Lord said not to do, guess quoting from Sacred Scripture for them only is a virtue when there’s profit in the matter.

The works of the Mosaic Law (Torah) are all linked to love and charity: love of G-d and love of neighbor, as Jesus said, as well as the rabbinical sages, such as Maimonides. Although one may not always be “in the mood” to perform especially the ritualistic practices, and one may not understand the rationale behind all of them, one still performs them for love of G-d, while thanking G-d for sanctifying these practices involving mundane behaviors. They are never regarded as a burden, but rather a joyous task accomplished in the service of G-d.

Amen! Yet, this has been twisted in modern times to exclude charitable works and selfishly focus on faith to justify one. That is dangerous, as the L-rd has clearly stated what is expected of us.
