When the mormon church is attacked, I can perhaps sound like a mormon. But when the catholic church is attacked, I can certainly sound like a catholic. Both faiths are close to my heart. Nothing wrong with that, right? šŸ™‚
i’ve read your posts on MADB and you DON’T defend the catholic church. you have made it obvious there that you are mormon.

Notice Why Me says he was ā€œborn Catholicā€. He doesn’t say he was ever baptized Catholic or confirmed Catholic. That, and setting himself up as a Mormon Apologist, pretty much tells the story. He’s Mormon. So why say he’s Catholic when he’s not?

Here is an interesting discussion on the mormonapologetic site about the flds and the latest newsreport:

No I am not a troll. Yes, I attend Mass. Yes, I know nuns. And yes, I know several priests.

If Texas does not prove its case, there will be a massive lawsuit.
with multiple underage girls pregnant I don’t think Texas will be unable to prove their case. there is also reason to believe that there may be marriage records found there in the ā€œtempleā€ that could show polygamy. That’s still a crime in Texas as is underage marriage.

same reason he tells us the nuns at the convent he attends adoration at ask him to read at mass and that his priests that he hangs out with are opus dei. it’s an attempt to gain catholic cred to trot out the old ā€œwow look at these mormons maybe they’re onto somethingā€ approach. he makes sure to tell his mormon friends on MADB how he tells the nuns and priests the way things are if they ever say anything negative about the LDS church. that and his JS icon and fave JS quotes on his signature make his religion pretty obvious.

Is underage marriage a crime if the parents give their consent? Because if so, that’s likely not going to be part of the case, at least not all of them. Now, that will ONLY help men whose FIRST marriage is to an underage girl… ANY bigamous/polygamous marriage will still be deemed illegal.

Under a certain age, yes. In Texas, I believe the age is 17 (I just looked it up). Several of the girls removed from the FLDS compound were under 17 when they were forced into marriage to much older men.

The 16 year-old girl who called the crisis hotline and started this whole thing was barely 15 when she was married. Now she is 16 and pregnant with her 2nd child.

Good grief!

Yeah, and it’s about time something was done. It’s tragic that so many children had to suffer before the authorities stepped in. And as this mess unwinds, there will be many more problems that come to light. Each individual child is a separate case…

Religious belief is not going to protect those who preyed upon children. Warren Jeffs may have some company in jail. Maybe he can play football with them 😃

i have never gotten the impression that you are Catholic. you write like someone who is pretending to be Catholic, and not doing a very good job of it. i’m sure i’m not the only one here who has figured you out. maybe you are doing your religion a disfavor?
Both faiths are close to my heart. Nothing wrong with that, right? šŸ™‚
it dpends on what you mean by ā€œclose to my heart.ā€ if you mean that you can practice both without being offensive to both, then you’re way off base there. but really, no one buys this story. you’re a morman true and blue. what are you ashamed of? most mormans seems to be are overproud and a bit haughty about being mromon. i think you are too.

You are sure pushing him hard to become a full-blooded Mormon if he isn’t one. Well, I can’t complain about that. šŸ™‚ Looks like he will make a good Mormon aplogist when he does! 😃

nope he is about as effective as you are. you both ignore facts and turn to a subjective emotional experience in adolescence as reason to place your faith in joseph smith.

BTW if you look on MADB you’ll see whyme is already full blooded mormon although, like you, he has created his own interpretation of what that means. the only difference is he pretends to be catholic here and he seems to have some unitarian leanings that you don’t share.

hopefully when you are old enough to go through the temple you’ll see mormonism for what it really is. until then you really can’t know

Majick, when you consider the origins of Mormonism and all the odd practices (including polygamy, but lots of others) the stuff that goes on in the Temple is pretty tame. (I’m talking about a regular LDS Temple, not one of those FLDS places where they have sex with children.) Supposedly there was more colorful language as part of the rituals in the past, but that has been modified now.

I don’t know Zerinus’ resume, but I have a suspicion that he’s ā€œold enoughā€ to have already gone through the temple.

I was born catholic and converted to mormonism at 18. But because I was born catholic, I am catholic. The catholics around me know my story. Nothing is hidden. šŸ™‚
I’m sure the priests don’t know that you are receiving communion in a Catholic church, and taking sacrament at a mormon sacrament meeting.

If the priest does know this, and isn’t stopping you from receiving at a Catholic church, then that priest needs his faculties pulled.

Why me is an ā€œinternet Catholicā€. He only knows as much as he can find on the internet. aka troll.

speaking of that FLSD temple.

I saw a photo of it in the paper. the photo showed it within the context of the compound, which is a 1700 acre former game preserve. There were several cars parked nearby the wall that goes around the temple. from the perspective givene by those cars, it appear that the wall is a good 15 to 20 feet high. This is a wall around a temple that is located in a secure ā€œcomoundā€

so my question would be, what is that wall for? I assiume there is virtually no casual traffice into, through, or out of the compound. The only people in there are FLSD people. granted they may not all be worthy of that holy place, but still, why would it be necessary to have such a high wall around the temple?

We don’t yet know what happened in Texas. Maybe it was nothing, maybe it was something awful. Let’s wait until the evidence comes out before we pass judgement.

According to people who have posted here, within this very thread, it is illegal to marry a child that is under 16 in the state of Texas. There are pregnant girls that are under 16. If they are married, that marriage is not valid. Therefore they were impregnated via statutory rape. That particular evidence speaks for itself. If you want to call that passing judgment, that’s certainly your prerogative. I call it using the brain God gave me to put 2 and 2 together.

With all due respect… I have had enough of Mormonism as well as their long held beliefs of polygamy. I know what went on in that compound without some lawful evidence. I come from a polygamous background and a heritage that spans continents and back to Mormon roots.

It’s gonna happen that judgement is passed. We are not to judge them. But God surely will!

No need to pass judgment even then. After all, that’s the court’s role. They will weigh the evidence of underaged pregnant kids and those who are already mothers. The leader who has already been convicted for facilitating this type of child molestation will also be presented. Then, once the children have been question, their own stories will be told.

Could you direct us to these attacks where you sound like a Catholic? I haven’t seen anything remotely like this from you, here or on the MAAD board.
