FLDS as true LDS

Majick, when you consider the origins of Mormonism and all the odd practices (including polygamy, but lots of others) the stuff that goes on in the Temple is pretty tame. (I’m talking about a regular LDS Temple, not one of those FLDS places where they have sex with children.) Supposedly there was more colorful language as part of the rituals in the past, but that has been modified now.

I don’t know Zerinus’ resume, but I have a suspicion that he’s “old enough” to have already gone through the temple.
well in “mormonspeak” he has indicated that he is in the 16-18 YO group

even with the extremely toned down endowment they have today it still is at the very least an anticlimactic experience and many individuals then start to wonder what on earth any of that ritual has to do with being able to pass the sentinels that guard the entry into gods presence

I’m surprised at the age. Not because he has shown greater maturity but because you’d think that someone that age would have better things to do than to hang around here day after day. I guess he’ll disappear for a couple of years soon 😉

Temple activity seems odd to me. It appears to be oriented more towards the benefit of the institution than to any individual participant. It is hard to understand how handshakes purportedly used by the Masons have anything to do with entering the presence of God (with all due respect to the Masons 🙂 )

Could you direct us to these attacks where you sound like a Catholic? I haven’t seen anything remotely like this from you, here or on the MAAD board.
Maybe you could start with the MAAD thread about Pope Benedict, the one accusing him of pandering and equating him with Nero?

Notice Why Me says he was “born Catholic”. He doesn’t say he was ever baptized Catholic or confirmed Catholic. That, and setting himself up as a Mormon Apologist, pretty much tells the story. He’s Mormon. So why say he’s Catholic when he’s not?
Yes, I was christened into the catholic faith and I did make my holy communion and confirmation. So I am catholic. 🙂

First, the mad board does not have rabid anticatholics as this board has rabid antimormons. But I do defend the catholic church if the need arises on that board. And the Mad people know my catholicism. No problem over there.

We don’t yet know what happened in Texas. Maybe it was nothing, maybe it was something awful. Let’s wait until the evidence comes out before we pass judgement.
You are correct. No evidence of abuse has been found. And the girl who reported the abuse has not been found. Some say it was a hoax call. Only time will tell.

You are sure pushing him hard to become a full-blooded Mormon if he isn’t one. Well, I can’t complain about that. 🙂 Looks like he will make a good Mormon aplogist when he does! 😃

There are only a few antimormon catholics posting on this thread. I can count them on one hand. They just don’t get it. Be that as it may, on a different thread I mentioned that the catholic church was in crisis in America and I got an ear full. However, NPR just said the same thing. If it wasn’t for the hispanics, the catholic church would be on the decline in the USA.

In my opinion, Catholic Answers needs to see that threat and not the so called mormon threat.

Do you take the sacraments in the Mormon church? If so, how do you reconcile that with being a Catholic?

A pregnant girl under the age of 16 is proof of child rape in the state of Texas. They have such girls within the group that was secured away from the cult compound.

Whether or not the call was a hoax, or the girl who made the call has been hidden or moved by the cult, or is part of the children that were secured from the cult and has just not yet been identified, is not actually material. Under the law, all that is need is probable cause to enter the area. They had that. If, when they arrive at the area, they find proof of other crimes, the law allows those crimes to be investigated even if the original caller is never identified.

But in the meantime, there are pregnant girls under age 16. That’s proof right there of statutory rape. The only question now is how much more will be found.

Not to mention a child’s cry for help should not be ignored. I can’t believe anyone would actually state that it should.

If this child was found harmed, the law enforcement she called would be under fire for not doing their job.

I hope they find her. If it is known that she was the one making the calls, the reprisals could possibly put her in more danger than she already was.

So where are the posts defending Catholicism on ANY board?

Are you out of your mind? Pregnant girls as young as 14 does not constitute abuse?

Paul

He may not be out of his mind but as an apologist for all things LDS, and as someone who can supposedly believe in both the Catholic Church and the Mormon church at the same time, his mind is pretty open 😃

I will give you a couple of tips on how to shake them off your back:
  1. Don’t let them focus on you, but away from you to the subject you are dealing with. If they insist on focusing on you, just ignore them. Don’t reply to them. No matter how much they try, just turn a deaf ear. Eventually they will get the message, and stop trying. That means that you should not try to focus the attention on yourself either. Don’t say, “I am here to defend Mormonism against unfair attacks by Catholics”. That is focusing on yourself. If you find an unfair criticism, deal with the criticism; but don’t say that this is what you are her to do.
  2. Never “complain” about anti-Mormonism on the board—just deal with the anti-Mormonism. For example, if you think that somebody is making mountain out of the molehill of the Mountain Meadows Massacre, while conveniently overlooking the Catholic Church’s own chequered history, just remind them of that. But don’t say, “There is too much anti-Mormonism here”. If you say that, then they will say, “Anti-Mormonism? What anti-Mormonism!” And they will sidetrack you into a lengthy discussion of what is anti-Mormonism.
If you follow these tips, you will find that you will get on top of them pretty quickly.

Compared to the Catholic Church’s “checkered history,” it is.
