I was more than shocked when I read this blog by bishop Lynch. I’m hoping people read it so that God’s people realize we cannot let up on prayer . We need leaders in our church who stand for the rights of the unborn and true Catholic teaching.

Know what your bishop believes. Write to him, pray for him encourage him to stand firm on church teaching …for the sake of souls and lives of the unborn.

What are your thoughts on his comments?

I can’t say that I’m surprised. Bishop Lynch has prohibited perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Source: catholicculture.org/news/features/index.cfm?recnum=13814

During the Terri Schiavo fiasco, the only comments he issued was that Terri’s parents and Michael (her husband) were not making peace with each other.

This is another reason why I can’t blindly follow Bishops. Its our adherence to Catholic teaching that is required of us.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

**Pray for this sadly misguided Bishop!

Who in their right mind would prohibit, or put limits on the adoration of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ???

The poor Bishop writes concerning Mr. Obama; “His actions on behalf of born human life have led to a lessening of the chance of nuclear war;” This couldn’t be any further from the truth!

Iran is far closer to having nuclear weapons due to the weakness of the feeble Obama administration.

"President Mahmoud Ahmadabad declared Wednesday that Israel is a “disgraceful blot” that should be “wiped off the map”** foxnews.com/story/0,2933,173491,00.html

If we feebly declare we will not use nuclear weapons to those who would use them in a heartbeat, we are not “lessening” the chance of nuclear war, we are increasing the chance of it!!

**Mr. Obama is the modern day Neville Chamberlain, appeasing Ahmadabad, the modern day Adolf Hitler en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neville_Chamberlain
**
Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

What did he say in the blog post that was wrong or inaccurate? He analyzes the effect of Obama’s appearance and the things that have happened since, and I don’t see where he gets it wrong.

Bishop Lynch could do well to take to heart these words of Mother Teresa as posted on the Priests for Life website:

“Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.”

~~ Speech of Mother Teresa of Calcutta to the National Prayer Breakfast, Washington, DC, February 3, 1994

A breath of fresh air! President Obama is too often directly compared to Hitler himself. 😦

I agree. He does warn that things may not remain the same, but he is, in my opinion, saying nothing inappropriate.

This is an extremely thoughtful and well-reasoned individual who views Catholicism in it’s totality as opposed to viewing it through the prism of a single issue.

What a breath of fresh air. Thank you for posting the link to his remarks.
Maybe you know the bishop and you’re used to smelling the air there. To those of us who can still see their way clear through the fog and stench it 's appalling on so many levels.

What other issue is there but life…never mind that’s not a question. There is no other issue but life. If that is not first you have no other issues.

Day one of any Faith Formation class teaches children God created us. Life is THE gift of God that illustrates how much He loves us . He formed us and made us in His image.

The Bishop is a divider. He needs prayer. Instead of regarding Catholics who stand for the faith and fight for life as the joy of his heart he acts as if his own people are the enemy…throws them under the bus every chance he gets in favor of a man who voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act." Here’s a frightening quote from Obama who is indeed the most pro abortion president ever…

" A ban to stop aborted babies from being shelved to die would be burdensome to their mothers. She alone should decide whether her baby lives or dies."

A good book for summer reading is “The Devastated Vineyard,” by Dietrich von Hildebrand .He speaks eloquently on the issue of a bishops responsibility.

Here’s a little intro for you by Michael Vorris of Real Catholic TV

God Bless You

I do not know the bishop. In fact, I have never heard of him before today. I thank you for introducing me to him.
The Bishop is a divider.
Quite the contrary. The bishop is trying to unite Catholics in spreading the totality of the Catholic message of faith, as opposed to narrowly focusing on one specific aspect of it. The bishop expected to receive some comments such as yours, as he indicated in the first paragraph of his comments. He deserves great credit for making his comments despite knowing in advance that various members of our faith would likely misinterpret them.

Do you think that maybe your apathy towards the greatest holocaust that is taking place throughout the world clouds your ability to make a moral judgment?

I believe the opposite is true. I believe you are viewing our faith through the prism of a single issue and that this has clouded your ability to view the other positive aspects of Catholicism, which is precisely the point the bishop was making as well.

Perhaps I didn’t understand the blog post but it appeared to me that the Bishop was quite fair in his remarks?!

He didn’t say anything other than facts and he didn’t say anything anti-Catholic.

I hate the partisanship of CAF.

You know the Church condemns fanaticism too!

Though I find it reasonable to stay clear of the Liberal Democrat party for their stance on abortions and other controversies it’s childish not to acknowledge the good intentions that they might have had in regards to other issues and to be fair I’m, fairly skeptical of how pro-life most Republican figureheads are. Sure, most believe in it or at least say so; but how many will implement it while in office?

Jesus embraced truth dearly. It’s a shame many of you can’t talk straight.

Fact for you too then; my post was not in any way pro-abortion.

This is exactly what I’m talking about!

At this point saying Obama is black will also be considered pro-abortion.

That’s a straw man defense. I gave you what you challenged me on-- straight truth without fanaticism which illustrated the concern of my post regarding the bishop… Never implied anything about your stand on abortion.

Tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday. Jesus says: when He comes He will convince the world of sin and righteousness . Jn 16 :8

Come,O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of Your love.

Send forth Your Spirit ,O Lord and they shall be created.

AND YOU shall renew the face of the earth.

Have a Blessed Pentecost Sunday

This bishop is a disgrace to the Church! Bishops like him are the reason the Church is in the mess it is in today. Retire, bishop! You are unwilling and unable to uphold the teachings of the Church!

I respect your opinion, but the Bishop’s lack of knowledge about some Catholic Universities (including Notre Dame) and Politics is an abomination.
Further, check out the Catechism, 2245 and 2246 together.
This Bishop is not the “Church”, and needs to keep his personal opinions to himself because he negatively reflects on the “Chruch” projecting his inaccuracies.

Just because the Clinton administration supported abortion, Clinton did not do the damage that the Obama administration has done.
In addition, one person’s sin does not excuse anothers sin.
Hillary as an appointee of Obama is promoting abortion as our US Sec of State at the United Nations.

About some Catholic Universities, they graduate Catholics who do not have a good foundation in the Faith, and therefore FAIL in their mission statement. They do not all adhere to the Catechism of the Catholic Church either.

Regarding immigration, the Obama Administration has done nothing to protect our borders or prosecute employers who hire illegal immigrants.
He has done nothing to streamline the ability to get Green Cards where jobs are available.
This is all within his power without additional legislation, because the laws already exist.

Further this Bishop has no understanding of the US current economic situtation which effects immigration, and poor and middle income taxpayers.
The US has an American unemployment rate of 9.9%.
dol.gov/
The Mexican unemployment rate is approx: 6%
indexmundi.com/mexico/unemployment_rate.html
States are borrowing from the Feds to pay unemployment
States borrowing money from Feds for unemployment of Americans.
economicpolicyjournal.com…-treasury.html

The USA owes hundreds of billions of dollars to China and Japan.
And the Obama Administration and his Congress keep spending and spending. taxpayer dollars that he does not have. He has put this Country further into debt than any other President. It has to have a negative impact on all American families.

Based upon his actions, Obama’s goals appear to be Socialism and Control of the individual. He is a student of Saul Alinsky style politics. He has no regard for the Constittution of the United States. (Read the Constitution.)

There are bad Republicans too, those who vote with Obama.

Catholics in the St. Petersburg Diocese need to be wary of this Bishop. He is very ignorant outside his field of theology.

I’m not convinced his grasp of Roman Catholic theology is all that sound. He is clearly a product of the 60’s and 70’s seminary culture that included that heresy known as liberation theology.
