Has anyone ever told you that YOU are too CONTROLLING? (emphasis mine)
pnewton. You seem to be UN-supportive of people who want their Constitutional Rights preserved.

YOU seem to be supportive of people who . . .

.
  • Want to CONTROL citizens’ decisions about fire arms by taking guns away from good citizens (at least SOME of the guns and SOME of the good citizens).
  • Want to CONTROL citizens by KEEPING guns ALREADY taken ILLEGALLY away from citizens (by their on-going silence to this day). (here is a series of examples of illegal confiscations agains law-abiding US Citizens that NOBODY has been held accountable for. At least in national Government. And the gun-grabbers are STILL silent on!)
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions about the type of fire arm they keep.
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions about the ammo they procure.
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions about the magazine type they use.
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions about the magazine size they prefer.
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions about how many firearms they can possess.
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions about EVEN if their kids can POINT their finger like a gun (and are utterly silent when the child is REMOVED from school over this. See here and here for just two of MANY examples)
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions about BB and pellet guns (here).
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions about firearm usage by RE-DEFINING “mental illness” with the stroke of a pen to include needed accounting help on forms that already have behind them, literally more laws then a set of encyclopedias can hold.
  • Want to CONTROL citizens decisions by pressuring them about WHO candidates can and cannot take donations from (especially concerning donations from the NRA).
  • Want to CONTROL students who at school walk-out “rallys” and demonstrations, that if they don’t tow the party line are THREATENED by school administrators with having to be placed in a police car (see that video here).
  • Want to CONTROL TEACHERS who draw parallels concerning student’s freedoms about a PRO-LIFE demonstration too (instead of GUN-CONTROL rally disguised as a “moment of respect”). See this teacher get placed on suspension for daring this here.

  • Want to CONTROL the definition and REDEFINITION and again REDEFINITION of what an “assault rifle” is to manipulate public opinion.
  • Want to CONTROL the definition and REDEFINITION of standard capacity magazines as “high-capacity clips”. They want magazine (“clips” as THEY call them) size REDUCED down to 10. And then down to 7. Then who knows . . . .
  • Want to CONTROL the words regarding rifles with gripping devices in the shape of a pistol . . . as “assault rifles” in the national discussion.
  • Want to CONTROL the words regarding deer rifles as “sniper rifles” (again these are concerning the national discussion).
  • Want to CONTROL the words regarding large caliber deer rifles as “armor-piercing guns” (not to mention the ammo phrases they invent concerning this too).
  • Want to CONTROL the words regarding pistols as “high-capacity killing machines” instead of defensive helps and sport tools.
Etc. etc. etc.

The list of demands of the incremental Second Amendment “rejecters” never ends.

When people get on forums like this and push back,
when people get on here and DEFEND FREEDOM,
when people come to places like CAF and . . . .

. . . DEFEND a citizens RIGHT to make THEIR OWN DECISIONS about guns

. . . DEFEND a citizens RIGHT to make THEIR OWN DECISIONS about magazines

. . . DEFEND a citizens RIGHT to make THEIR OWN DECISIONS about ammo

What happens?

We (in this case “I”) get told by people like pnewton that WE (“I”) are trying to CONTROL YOU.

It is a cheap ad hominem attack against good people by people attempting to compensate for the fact that they do NOT have good ideas that can stand on their own (in this area).

Many times these are GREAT people. (I bet pnewton and I would get along great in person.)

Many of pnewton’s posts are wonderful and I have gotten much from them (but not so much in this area).

pnewton. I can’t speak for MonteRCMS, but I am pretty sure that’s WHY he put up a laughter post concerning this.

For readers of this thread. Please read the above, and draw your own conclusions.

Please, please, please don’t fall for these guys’ ideas. At least in THIS realm.

Just look at the posts. Look at the facts. Don’t fall for such non-sense argumentation.

DEMAND better arguments from these people and REJECT their phony syllogisms in the meantime.

For the record, I quit responding because I has become the subject of the thread, just for being a Catholic on a Catholic forum.

Backgrounder on a Mercy and Peacebuilding Approach to Gun Violence
For many years, the USCCB has supported a number of reasonable measures to address the problem of gun violence. These include:

A total ban on assault weapons, which the USCCB supported when the ban passed in 1994 and when Congress failed to renew it in 2004.

Measures that control the sale and use of firearms, such as universal background checks for all gun purchases;

Limitations on civilian access to high-capacity weapons and ammunition magazines;

A federal law to criminalize gun trafficking;

Improved access to and increased resources for mental health care and earlier interventions;

Regulations and limitations on the purchasing of handguns;

Measures that make guns safer, such as locks that prevent children and anyone other than the owner from using the gun without permission and supervision; and

An honest assessment of the toll of violent images and experiences which inundate people, particularly our youth.
The USCCB also supports recent proposals to set a more appropriate minimum age for gun ownership, and to ban “bump stocks.” In addition, the USCCB supports wholistic measures, such as the promotion of mercy and peacebuilding in our communities through restorative justice policies and practices, ongoing encounters and discussions at the parish level regarding violence in communities.

11:15. ELEVEN MINUTES AND FIFTEEN SECONDS!

Now we know it took this LONG for law enforcement to enter the Parkland School (MSD HS). (See video)

Eleven minutes and fifteen seconds. This despite having armed Government people on campus.

.

The fault (to some)?

Law-abiding citizens.

.

The solution (to some)?

MORE Government.
