This week the Florida Legislature passed a resolution labeling pornography as a public health risk. Is this a first step to banning pornography in that state? I could see this going to the SCOTUS.
I doubt that. It’s not a law just a statement. Honestly, it smells like table scrap meat thrown to a conservative base. This week the Florida Legislature passed a resolution labeling pornography as a public health risk. Is this a first step to banning pornography in that state? I could see this going to the SCOTUS.
Florida just experienced a record-breaking mass shooting, and this is the “public health risk” the Florida GOP chooses to take seriously. Awesome. This week the Florida Legislature passed a resolution labeling pornography as a public health risk. Is this a first step to banning pornography in that state? I could see this going to the SCOTUS.
Or, just maybe, it’s a legitimate recognition of a severe problem. This is an “easy lift” to please their Christian base who don’t like sex, but do like guns.
Well, I do know. My 11-year old sister lives in Florida. If she gets murdered, it won’t be with video clips of naked people.Should it supercede gun violence? I don’t know.
What about the sex trafficker who started off with softcore porn and eventually ended up selling human flesh? What if your cousin ends up in his ‘possession’?
Very true. But the primary responsiblity for education lies with parents and priests. I don’t think the state should have much to say about morality because that’s what the Church must do.The government can educate children of the dangers of that poison
They can’t stop it but they can make it almost non existent for most people. The government can get rid of gambling and copyright violating websites. They just want porn websites to be used so they let them be.It’s a waste of time. They can’t stop porn unless they ban the internet.
Ever heard of the deep web? They can’t stop it but they can make it almost non existent for most people.
