Florida's GOP gubernatorial nominee says a vote for his black opponent would 'monkey this up'

Right. You don’t know you are racist, and there is no real evidence that you are, but take my word for it, you are racist.
I didn’t say that. Don’t put words in my mouth. I said nothing of the kind, and you know it. Bad enough to create a strawman, worse to attribute it to me.
We could add that the Democratic Party finds it very easy to point fingers at supposed racists but never seems to see racism in its own closet, even though that was where it showed up most rabidly in the past.
I’m completely willing to see and criticize racism in the Democratic Party, and in liberalism in general. You’ll notice that above I said that racism is not exactly unknown among liberals, or Democrats.

Accusing someone of racism, even if the accusation is groundless, is not racism. It is bad, certainly, but it is not racism.
It may be, though.

Someone who thinks some races are, inherently, more in need of government protection and support than other races may, in fact, be racist, even while accusing others of it.

Implicit, in their view is the assumption that some races are inherently less capable than others, and positively need ongoing kinds of state support in order to be on equal footing.

You need to read some Thomas Sowell on this.

The motivation is race-based. It’s racism.
That’s not the definition of racism.

The Republican advocating for black voting rights and civil rights before the law has also never changed, despite Left wing attempts to pretend otherwise.
That may have been true pre-1980. But not today. Read about the change here.

We have had education systems taken over by Left wing groups to the detriment of truth.

To a large extent that is why there is so much division today. Our church i believe, has also not fared well with such a development but gone along with a lot of the deceit in the name of agreeableness.

I think clearly this has been a weakness not a strength. People who disagree with this weakness have been labelled rigid and without compassion. Such name calling now brings disrepute and lack of respect for the communicator, not the recipient. That has been a good development.

It has been a mistake for the church to largely capitulate to Left wing ethics. It has affected the church in numbers, importance and relevance. The people’s backlash through the alternate media now has the church in a precarious position with how it portrays its position on goodness and compassion through politics. If it simply parrots the Left wing mantras it will look increasingly weak and naive and less people will listen to it, not more.

The capitulation by some in the church to the Left wing self belief that the people who oppose this development necessarily are bad, rigid and deplorable is self defeating.

It prevents the church from cutting loose from such a detrimental and divisive mindset.

Clever polemics.
But the voting demographics tell the honest story…
Yes it does. The Ku Klux Klan has been decimated and largely defeated, the anti Black sections of the Democratic Party is now a thing of the past, there is no political push for segregation any more and the South now largely votes Republican.

All good developments.

There are still efforts by Republicans to suppress the votes of minorities who overwhelmingly vote for Democrats.
You say the word ‘still’ as if it is a continuance of something. There is no continuance.

Secondly, the historic racist party of the Democrats are so desperate to put this reputation onto Republicans that they try to portray racism to Republican motives for their policies.

It looks increasingly weak.

The Democrats owned slaves and fought for slavery and run the Ku Klux Klan and introduced the segregation laws BUT … the Republicans want integrity of the voting system.

So … the Republicans are racist.

This is nonsense and reflects badly on Democrats today. This is stirring up racial tension for political advantage. In this respect the Democrats still have a way to go to disentangle itself from using race in politics.

You spoke of minority voter suppression as though it were past. I pointed out it still is occurring.
It is also a clear fact that minorities vote in large majorities for democrats, realizing who is for them and who is against them. All the smoke and mirrors in the world cannot obscure that simple fact.

Lots of things wrong with your post and it is a reflection of Democratic lies.

Firstly, you are switching the discussion from blacks to minorities.

Secondly you are switching the discussion from being about clear policies based on race (Democrats) to policies Democrats are interpreting as having indirect impact on minorities and are therefore racist (according to Democrats).

This is clearly false, forced and part of the divisiveness of Democrats using their interpretation to accuse the others of being racist. This reflects very badly on the Democrats.

Thirdly, you are taught to consider the integrity of the voting system as being racist. This is not something in the past and i did not say it was. Voting integrity should always be something that is current. It is current.

Lastly the black population switched from being overwhelmingly voting Republican (the party that fought to free them) to voting Democrats in the 1930’s because of the promise of the new deal that they would get money from the government taken off others. I think it is to their shame that they decided to vote for the historically racist party in the 1930’s because of the socialist promise of taking other people’s money.

It is important to point out that blacks continued voting for the Democrats even though the Democrats were introducing segregation laws in the south and running the Ku Klux Klan.

The taking of other people’s money has not done the black community any good in the last 90 years as other groups around the world have discovered. I hope larger numbers of blacks start to realise this and come back to the Republican Party. It would be the best thing for racial healing and it would put strong pressure on the Democrats to stop using race in their politics.

There is nothing at all wrong with my post.
If you want to restrict the conversation to blacks that is OK, but not necessary.

It is not fair, however, to cite past bad actions as though there are probative of anything other than the past, and to ignore present observations as though they are without meaning.

As to your third point, my sense of the situation is informed by the finding of our courts.

In you last point, you try to dismiss the significance of the voting patterns of blacks (and perhaps the other minorities that you don’t want to discuss). But your argument seems to patronizing, especially as applied to an entire race.

But your argument seems to patronizing, especially as applied to an entire race.
When you haven’t got an argument you fall back to the politically correct religion.

In all honesty it is looking increasingly weak from your side of politics when you do this. Again what you have done is try to interpret bad motives, racist motives to the other person. You are taught to think this way. It is wrong, it is divisive, it is the automatic pc rsponse and it is not working any more.

Did the blacks votes for Republicans until the 1930’s - yes
Did they switch then because of the new deal - yes
Did they continue voting for the historically racist party even when they were running the Ku Klux Klan to defend their segregation laws - yes.

But the response is :
But your argument seems to patronizing, especially as applied to an entire race.
There is no argument there, it is only the pc religion. I cannot get inside your head but i say with all good wishes, this religion is bad for you and is a problem with society today.

When you haven’t got an argument you fall back to the politically correct religion.
Avoiding stereotyping by race is proper. it is not a mere matter of political correctness. Odd to have to point that out.

You raised the point of blacks voting for the Democratic Party. I gave the facts of this and you did not address the facts but went straight to the ‘you are being offensive/racist/patronising’ pc response.

You are still doing this with your last post. Giving facts on why a certain group votes the way they do in response to someone bringing the topic up is part of the discussion.

Not addressing what is said but only having the very weak response of ‘i feel you are stereotyping’ is just not rationally intellectual.

This is the criticism of the pc religion.

I gave the facts of this

You gave an interpretation of why blacks vote for Democrats that goes beyond “the facts”.

Do you agree that the majority of blacks used to vote for the party that freed them from slavery, i.e. the Republicans?

Do you agree that the majority of blacks voted for the Republicans until the new deal where they switched parties?

Do you agree that the majority of blacks then continued voting for the Democratic Party even when the Democrats were introducing black segregation laws and running the violent KKK in support of those racist laws?

Do you agree then that the black population were clearly voting for Democrats based on issues that had nothing to do with Republicans being racist?

If you answer yes, and the facts say so, then you cannot point to the majority of blacks voting for Democrats as somehow support for Republicans being racist against them.

I don’t agree with the accuracy or completeness of your narrative.
More importantly, I have not, in any post, made that claim that you put in my mouth.
