Florida's Key West Residents Seek Irma Protection at Marian Grotto

Residents of Key West came and prayed at this Marian Grotto dedicated to protection from hurricanes as Irma was coming down upon them.
“Days after the hurricane’s path was announced, people began streaming to the outdoor stone grotto at all hours, leaving notes, lighting candles and simply quietly praying.”
The nun who founded the grotto promised God’s help during hurricanes because of this grotto.

     This report about the grotto indicates that at least
some of the people who are going there intended to stay
during the hurricane. And so they needed prayer all the more.

     I just came across a report from this grotto when they were
in the eye of the hurricane. It says there was little flooding in their neighborhood. see
